I finally talk to that guy who's doing this job.

1. It was not sticker type (Sorry wrong info.)

2. It will be done by water-pressured spray painting (I just don't know what it

is )

3. and then they coat with special clear paint. (He said it's never gonna come off)

4. Eclipse interior is little more expensive, cause ours are embossed. So, He need to paint

twice more than regular car.

5. Price is around $200-220USD (negotiable) for 17 pieces (I put the pic.)

6. It will take only a day.

7. I send the parts that I want to be painted, then He paints them and send them back

to me.

8. Mixed color is same price (like I want to paint silver-carbon on center facia and others

black carbon)

9. He does brushed aluminum and hair line metal (those are little cheaper than

carbon lookin') and will do marble(he's testing now for marble)

10. I'll be the lab-rat will do this soon (I still wating for right door trim cause it's broken)

and post picture here.

11. He doesn't speak any English. but He said he could ship it to US with my help.

anymore Questions? Thanx :dsm: :thumb:

Looks pretty good. Anyone know what shipping a 5-10lb box to korea would cost? Can't imagine it would be too much and I"m sure this guy would love the business.

People will say it's rice cause it's not real c/f, its painted but even real c/f is rice in an interior, this alternative is just much cheaper! It looks real hot, I'm loving it.

If you have it done, please post pictures of these parts installed. I'd love to get this done, but I'd need to see how it would come out looking. Anyone up for a photoshop?

go to www.USPS.com. you can calcurate internatinal shipping cost.

It'll be around $20-40 USD. I prefer USPS EMS..it's fast and have a tracking number.

there is a store online that sells the kits premade....not too sure whether they are stickers or what, but just something to check out...they are a little cheaper than what this duder is talking about:

Do you think you will end up going through him? Got any more higher resolution/more detailed pictures?

Check your PMs.

I've never seen this style of carbon fiber sold in kits, I've only seen overlays and they look like ass to me, since they don't cover the full part.

These are more like an actual carbon fiber wet layup, where you'd lay the carbon on a stock piece and use it as a real carbon fiber overlay, opposed to the sticker crap.

Gotcha....I just remember that site from a long time ago...

As soon as I got new passager side door trim bezel. (mine is broken and waiting for new part from US)

oh, 1 more thing, I'll ask him to do fog-lamp cover(?) with black carbon.

That'll be cool.

Anyone know what model momo wheel that is? The center area makes me think that it's from a stock vehicle since it appears to have an airbag. Any ideas?

http://autoaccessorystore.com/insta...i Eclipse (95-99) / Black Carbon Fiber style

Theres the pics of the real stuff.....I called and talked to a sales rep. They are definately real CF, BUT the downside is that they only have the trim kits, not the molded kits for 1G and 2G cars. This means, they dont conform to any bends, etc. They are just glue on thingies, so it looks kinda sh!tty

I am impressed even more now that I see the price. That isn't bad at all. I might look into this as well but not for all 17 pieces.

I think that stuff looks great!! keep us posted on how it all turns out for you because I for sure would be interested in getting my trim done.
Thanks, Chuck

So we have to send our parts and get it painted and wait for to ship it back to us? or they have spare products so when we order them we could get it faster? Can i get the address and phone number? My family members live in korea so maybe i could get them to pick it up and maybe mail it back to me. So please find out if we have to send out product and how long it will take it for us to get it back.

Thanks

just curious are you korean?

No, They don't have spare parts. If it's Hyundai, They might have a spare parts, but not DSM. If your Family live in here, you just send your parts and send them to this guy.

Job will done in one day, but since you live in far away from here...umm...it will take around 10 to 15 days...mail from US to Korea takes about 3-5days, painting 1day, mail to US takes about 3-5 days.

Yes I'm Korean.

oooh, i cant wait to see pics of this installed in your car!!

sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but are there any installed pics in a DSM? I wanna see!

That looks amazing...wow..love the steering wheel and center hold lids.

That is a process called Hydrographics, where they take a thin film graphic in a tank of water, and then carefully "push" the part to be coated through the film. The film itself is on a water-soluble (sp??) sheet, so once it is on the surface of the water, the backing is disolved, leaving just the graphic patern floating on the surface of the water. As the object is pushed down, the graphic is transfered to the part, and then the part is removed, allowed to dry, and then coated with multiple layers of a gloss clearcoat to protect it from scratches. There are companies all over the country that do this process, though most of them seem to specialize in coating gun stocks in camo patterns for hunters. A quick google search for "hydrographics" should turn up a ton of information and places that do this process.

I've contacted the thread starter bout maybe getting some work done but no reply.

Does anyone know of any loccal (US) shops that do this kind of work? I searched google for hydrographics but was unsuccessful in my efforts.
