Has anyone had a clutch and flywheel installed lately? I would like to know the cost of labor. I have had good work from local shop but $425 sounds expensive. Is it worth
trying myself, I have no garage.
Any estimate on time to perform? Need to be skilled mechanic?

I did the clutch install myself in my apartments parking lot. Trust me it was a pain in the ass having just the basic tools. Not to mention your AWD which is even more of a pain. It tooks us about a weekend but if you read the vfaq and the manual everything is pretty straight forward and easy. Unless you have air tools which you will need anyway and a storage place or something similar i would sugges taking the car to the shop and have them do it. I also got quoted $400 for the clutch install but i did it with friends and saved myself the money even though i will never do a clutch install again. Save yourself the hassle and just pay them and get it over with

too much!!!!! i just paid 150 from a local shop where i live for both the cluch and flywheel, he works on dsms, sr20s, srt4s,supras, rx7s, you name it

Yeah, $425 sounds a bit on the high side. If I were you, check to see if there are any local DSM boards near where you're located. You should be able find the local board mechanic and get a backyard discount. More than likely it's someone who owns and frequently works on DSMs.

It's time consuming but if you have the right tools it's not too hard. I was lucky enough to be able to used my grandpa's shop with air tools which made it all possible. Me and 2 friends did it in about 6 hours not working the whole time in one day. I'd suggest seeing if anyone you know has access to a garage or at least air tools and DIY and save some money unless money is not an issue for you.

Thanks for replies.
Has anybody had any good results with anything besides B&G syncroshift, hard to find
local.
Also, am I the only one putting in a Centerforce DF? All I read about is ACT.
Thanks again

SB has a clutch that seems good.

I would recomend Motul trans fluid, but it seems to fall on deaf ears.

DS Motorsports quotes $250 -300 depending on what you have. Use that as a guide.

The local Mitsu dealer wanted $450 +parts to install a clutch for my car. /rude mitsu
Of all the local shops $350 +parts was my lowest quote.

I have the tools but didnt have the time for a while so I put it off untill I had a long weekend. I did a major overhaul on the clutch system when I did the clutch/fw change. I replaced the master/slave cyl, new SS hardline, new SS braded line, Billet fork, CMDF clutch, Fidanza, Mitsu TOB. I was expecting to take 2 days for the work. It ended up only taking me about 8 total hours to do the install by my self. I am not a novice when it comes to dsm so an unexperianced person would likely take a 2-3 days. If you dont have the tools then just take it to a shop.

With a new 2100 clutch install i was qouted $1100 for my 93 awd :thumbdown
