I have a friend with a 2001 eclipse GS with the 4g64 sohc. We got to talking, and I told her that I have an extra 1G turbo manifold laying around. Will It fit on her car?

well, she lives in an apartment and it's simply impractical to tear her manifold off too see if this one fits.. just wondering if anyone else has done such a thing.

dude its all sittin in front of your face like...take me off...

its easy to get em off...just try it...r take a measuring tape and start calculating

I have a 3G Eclipse. Nothing from a 4G63 engine can be shared with it. If you want to turbo it, you gotta custom-make an exhaust manifold.
are you sure? I did some poking around on the internet and I found what looks to be a 4g63 turbo manifold and 16G on a 3g..

*edit* I'm looking for someone who has attempted this, or has done this..

My bro and I are actually thinking of adding a turbo to it since it's a 4 cylinder and a bit easier to do than a V-configured motor. I even have a full Garrett T3/T4 ready to put in it. But I know for a fact you gotta custom fabricate an exhaust manifold to bolt a turbo in it. I was even planning to bolt on the stock T25 GSX turbo to it but wont line up.

The pic looks like a good custom-made setup. Look into the 3G forums. Im sure alot of guys had done it already.

We got the same idea though. :thumb:

aaaaaah, well see that might be it.. Maybe the fact that the turbi was a garret t3/t4 was the reason it wouldn't fit...?

I emailed doug at the dyno power website (the first picture), and he said that the manifold he uses in his kit is the 1G turbo manifold and heatshield (2g or evo by request as an upgrade). I guess the assembly will only fit if it's a mitsu 14B/16G turbo that is flipped around...

Easy fix for that. Get a 16g or 14b and flip it. Wheels and assembly and all of course.

I know this thread is really old, But the answer was never answered correctly. Yes, The 1g/2g parts do fit on a 4cyl 3g. I know because I bought the 2g manifold of my good friend that has a 3g, And he put on a tubular manifold when he took the 2g manifold off. He has a 14b and it fit's like it is meant to be there. The only diff. is, The turbo is turned around, So the wastegate is in the back, And the comp housing is facing the drivers side of the car.

ANY turbo with a mitsubishi housing will fit, It just hasto be turned around.
