Hi guys,

I'm having a problem and I believe my injectors are leaking. Instead of going through a cleaning process ($60) I'm thinking of just upgrading them outright (550CC Lucas - $145 local used).

Here are the card details:
2G TSI AWD
T25 (stock)
Dave Brode UIC pipe + 1G BOV
stock boost.
Super AFC.

I pretty much bought the car this way so I'm taking advantage of the existing Super AFC. The question is...what should my initial settings me if I get 550CC injectors?

I'm guessing -20% across the board LO and HI, 1K to 7K. I'll get a data logger later but for now I need help.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks,
Amir

Actually..

I'm going to do the SeaFoam thing, then replace the injectors.

So..the question still stands :).

thanks,
Amir

Hi ChicagoGSX,

I assume you have the same setup as me?

What about your LO?

What's throttle do you have your LO and HI set to...30% and 70%?

BTW I just went through the SeaFoam thing. Put 1 bottle in the gas..and the other sucked in thru the hose going to the BOV. Let it sit 30 minutes...the drove the crap out of it for 5 min. I'm gonna change out the plugs in a little bit.

thanks,
Amir

Your really going to need some sort of logger to look at the fuel trims to dial them in correctly.

Definitely...

I need to order a pocket logger or something. The question was mainly to get a reasonable strarting point.

I have been a little bit away from the DSM community and recently coming back. I had a 1G before and had the TMO datalogger which was great.

I read about this new DSMLink thing...really pricey..but nice. Maybe something to consider later as the mods warrant it.

thanks,
Amir

Honestly, 550cc injectors on a t25, you will never be able to get it dialed in. My friend has 550cc injectors w/a small 16g, 3" DP, ported o2 housing, 2.5" catback, a blitz BOV, & a 255 fuel pump on a 1G motor. His settings on high are past -30 all the way across the board and his car still runs rich as hell. My advice is get another set of 450cc injectors and or find out which one is leaking and just replace it. Your car will only go slower with the bigger injectors on the t2small.

There is something wrong with his car if he is at -30 on any turbo with 550s. It doesn't really matter that much what turbo you have because the ECU corrects for airflow, so you will have to tune it a little with a new turbo but not more than 5 percent at any RPM.

As for my low they are -8 across, but my lows are screwed up anyway since I don't have an AFPR yet (on order). Lows must be tuned with a logger because they vary a lot from car to car.

There is nothing wrong with his car. He has a 255 walbro w/550cc injectors and no FPR. Ive seen the same setup on plenty of cars and the setting on all of them are pretty much the same. The ECU will correct the airflow to a certain extent, but it is not a good idea to use 550cc injectors on a t25. It just wont work.

I would say hes running rich because hes running a 255 pump and no fpr, that pump is to big for the stock regulator.

I think that is his problem. i bet the stock fpr is being overrun. With fuel pressure being higher thatn stock it will be hard to keep it from going rich.

------daren beat me to it :thumbdown

There might be nothing wrong with the car, but there is something wrong with the modlist. :D

I'm also willing to wager he may have boost leak(s) to take care of if he's still at -30% in the upper RPMs.
