1. Serious contender? 230 hp is pretty darn good out of the box. Exceed 1G and 2G stock. It's already putting down some serious numbers. When stage 3 hits, the EVO better run and hide. ;)
Feel the wrath!!! :thumb:

2. hmmm, interesting. I'll see what I can find out regarding bolt patterns. Just might.

3. No fading. Just evolution.

If your going to try and compare engines, atleast do it with some sort of level playing field.

the srt-4 does have more hp stock than a 1g-2g, but it also has a bigger turbo stock(among other parts)...put the same exact set up on a 2g(as it runs closer to compression if that 8:8:1 was correct) and then compare numbers...

and whats this stage 3 crap? Is it going to be a model, or just performance parts you can add, for I'm sure a greatly increased price, through the dealership?
Either way its just like following Buschurs(or other vendors) "staged" upgrades...

either way this argument is not going to be settled until someone does install the same exact set-up throughout many engines and finds the results....

A point on the EJ25 (I can already tell I'm going to be flamed for bringing this up..) is that it's R/S (there I said it) ratio is pretty horrible relative to the 4G63 (1.72 i believe) or even the EJ20 (a relatively perfect 1.74)--1.63. I was reading some articles on NASIOC a while back and they brought up the point that for the EJ25 they basically stroked the EJ20 to 2.5.

Wouldn't it be a more valid comparison be against the EJ20, SR20DET or a 3S-GTE? The A826 while being an engine of the times still has more displacement, and a lot more R&D money backing development.

Doesnt the neon have a 16g or equivilent stock? Add a 16g to a 1g, turn the boost up to srt-4 standards and I bet you will have the same or more hp.

put a 16g on a gst, a fmic, up the boost to the same as teh srt4....oh and lets not forget the lsd and you will own a srt4

WRX; f@#$ the cross pipe, up pipe, funky servicing holes, three cats and their touchy ecu. Too much work.

SRT-4, what's with the manifold to exhaust housing, compressor housing/bov thing. Why is that company trying to control a piece of the aftermarket? F@#$'em them and their stages.

F@#$ vaiable S@#$ too. That s@#$ does nothing for me at WOT at 19lbs. of boost.

Keep it simple; iron block, aluminum head, good internals, simple intake, simple exhaust. I'll run my 4g63 till I feel their's something better and can afford.

Oh yea, you want alternative fuel. I'll come up with some ethenal for that a$$.

Ok i am sick and tired of people saying the SRT-4 has a 16G 92awddsm im not trying to be a jerk but i am sick of people saying it has a 16G...it has a TD04LR-15GK-6cm let me break that down for people it is a TD04 turbine wheel a 15G compressor wheel and is in a 6cm housing; This is not even close to a TDO5H 16G.

Thats why my statement was in the form of a question. I wasnt sure but that is what I was told. Sorry if I pissed you off.

Seems like everyone is measuring their dicks to how much horsepower x displacement engine can produce. The SRT loses a lot of ground to the EVO, STi or GSX. Why? Drive all 4 wheels, lowering the overall power output of the engine, but gain it back by efficently putting that power where it's supposed to go. Propelling the car forward.

How long can driving 2 front wheels last making so much more power, while the weight is still being biased to the back also.

Btw, I'm an STi man now thanks to the test drive of my friend's modded 2.5. I wish both Mitsu and Subby would both lose 2 doors though.

Yeah I know. Traitor. :p

I wanna know if the new acura rl awd 300 hp can hang up there with the subby and evo... I think honda is improving and adding awd and creating a car with more hp than the nsx.

the RL is a boat it must wieght near 2 tons i dont see how it could be faster than a NSX, EVO, or STi

4g63's reliable, this motor will only die when the users die. IF 4g63's popularity keeps growing, so will it...reliable???....

It's got MIVEC yo!

It should be interesting, but I hate it when companies give ricers something to work with.

i saw in sport compact car the evo IV supposed to have like 310 horsepower.... then they said the IV might be the last evo to use the 4g63 OMG

I dunno....it worked fine for me. Try cutting and pasting, maybe that'll do it.

For those who can't get it, it's the Evo IX, with the beloved 4G63 MIVEC turbo. The best damn factory four this side of, well......the best damn factory four, period.
