What is the reliability of a stroker kit on a 7 Bolt engine? Will this overcome the problems of crankwalk? I haven't found much info regarding 7 bolt engines. Any help would be appreciated.

I still believe that crankwalk is possible. As fro reliability it all depends on the maching and who assembled the engine and of course how you take care of it.

My choice is either paying $1475 for a 7 Bolt stroker with Wiseco pistons and Eagle rods or pay $ 4200 for a complete 6 Bolt Stroker from a vendor. I want to see justification fro the extra $ 2725.

use the new bearings/crank

in 98-99 mitsu used a 2 piece bearnigs and a revised crank which was supposed to cut down on crank walk, you will rarely ever hear of a 98-99 crank walking

I have a 99, knock on wood, its still doing good with no signs of crankwalk

When it comes time to rebuild, i will build it as is, just replace all the worn pieces, bearings, journals, etc...but i am not goinng to swap to the 6bolt

its an extra $1000 JUST to make the 6bolt even work in basic accesories to convert it over, i dont care for that

I will stick with my 7bolt, with the revised internals, then throw some eagle rods in it, some weisco or JE pistons, arp main studs, clean the block, new oil pump, make sure its all balanced and be ready for 450whp reliably, everyday, thats my ultimate goal

I'm running a 7 bolt stroker... it ended up being cheaper for me to do than a built 6 bolt non-stroker, so I went that way. I used a 1g block and a new 7 bolt crank, new clevite bearings, eagle rods, and je pistons. It's working great so far.

But wait, by using the 6-bolt block you still had to do some modifications to get it into a 2G, right? And those are the mods he's wanting to avoid doing by going with a 7 bolt stroker right?

If, someone was building a 2G stroker with the original engine, would they then just use a 94-98 Galant crank?

I used a 93 block, so it's still a 7 bolt. I used my 2g head and the rest of the sensors hooked right up. One thing though, on the crank sensor, I had to dremel out about 1/8th of an inch of material from the oil pump cover where the sensor bolts on, other than that everything went straight in.

I'm currently building a 7 bolt stroker. 95 block, 95 galant 2.4 7 bolt crank, eagle rods, and J&E pistons. I have an A/T so I had to have the pilot hole in the crank machined out to fit the torque converter. It was not a big deal though, it only cost me 30 bucks.
