Hey everyone, just posting some pics of the Beaverton, Oregon Hooters meet that took place October 2nd. There was a great turnout, lots of nice cars (all turbo I believe, no 420a's :D) This was a sight everyone should've seen, not to mention hear. Especially once we were all out on the road, it was nothing but turbo's, BOV's, o2 dumps, and loud/low exhaust. If anyone else has any pics or videos of this meet, please share.

Enjoy :thumb:

Good thing no one was broke that ate there. Apperantly the Hooters waitress messed up people's checks, so a kid that got a $4 meal paid $23 bucks on his card.  Plastic is a bi***! Thats why I still prefer good ol' green backs :D

jesse needs to post his pics!

I have no pix... i got about 45 minutes of video though :D I need to upload onto Lee's computer (my roomie) and then someone can host it for me... I'll try to upload it tommorow, LOL hopefully put some music cause the commentary was funny as shit... LOL

for those who came to my place and watched the video after hooters.....

"There is the sweet ass mutha ####in' 240!"

my roomate was pissed he couldn't bring his auto no lsd 240 out, LOL he still mashed that thing to the limits.

oh shit that was fun times... next time we need to be a bit more organized and have the faster people up front... cause I almost never took it out of 2nd on the rocky pointe road... and never really accelerated on the straights because my car... well it just can't. LOL

BTW did anyone get my 6 grand gravel launch before we went back into town!!! I REALLY want a pic or video of that from the outside instead of mine from the inside!!! that was one pimp as launch.

The sad thingi s the subie launches harder on the gravel than on the street... just has no freaking power :D

Shit...I need to mention a few things to make this scenario even sided. Everyone keeps saying us Bend kids were too slow and holding up the pack, yet no one passed us, or even attempted to pass us, and as much as I remember, I kept looking in my rear-view and seeing quite a gap between me and the person behind me, so maybe it wasnt us up front holding the pack up. I also remember hearing tires screeching around corners, behind me...thats not the sound of slow moving traffic.

There were PLENTY of chances to pass. Including all the times the entire pack came to a complete stop, people couldve shoved their way forward if it was such a big deal. Sorry I didnt take my car past 6000rpms through out the whole back country road, but cheating death by hauling major ass on an unknown road in the dark, with gravel on the corners, and warnings of "if you lose it you will most likely DIE" doesnt sound too appealing to me, especially when I am 200+ miles from my house. I also had a passenger, and if I want to get real stupid, I prefer no one else in my car, I dont want to take the life of someone else, while trying to meet the expectations of people I just met for the first time.

I dont see why everyone keeps talking about this situation, there were quite a few kids that knew the road and complimented us on the pace we set, considering it was our first time, not to mention in the dark. They said "If you guys knew how bad some of those cliffs are, you probably wouldnt have gone that fast for your first time."

I personally didnt want to end up like the guy in this video >http://www.ftlauderdaleracing.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=68

I dont want to sound like a nit-picking prick, but does anyone see where I am comming from?

The first pic, the red 2G in the foreground. Who's is it and where can I see more? I've been contemplating hacking my bumper instead if just doing the 97 front like everyone else and that's the first one I've seen that was well done.

Yah man, my friend had a great time at the meet, he said everyone was real cool and it was a LOT better than the nwnissan meet he went to.

I had a great time at the meet, and got to know a few really cool guys, and see some bad cars.

So like I said, where can I get more pics?

Chayes car is nucking fice. His 16g is SOOO loud, I almost had to cover my ear, but yet I didnt want to. If I was to get my ear damaged, why not have it be from the sound of a turbo? The guys Chef & I were hanging out with at Hooters (up in the raised section) were really cool, and that was another badass thing about the meet. We got the reserved "VIP" section at hooters. :thumb: :thumb: Here are a few more pics, one of Chayes front (lil more upclose), the 1G I was drooling over (those guys were really cool), and another with DJPast in it (on accident, but damn it fits!)

Chris (spooled), I def. agree with you! Even though the "hill run" was fun and demanded some focus, it was not exactly what I thought the initial plan was when we mentioned "cruise". I had an awesome time with everyone, getting to know some new people and sharing ideas. I think the main problem was, that there were too many varying levels of interest. Some guys especially jess and yoshi were all about the offroad/ralley style driving while others were looking more for highway runs/pulls without the added dirt and rockchips on their paint. Furthermore, not only the Bend guys (chris & chris) but also myself and others were virgins on that particular road which didn't stop me from going all out but is def. a valid reason to take it easy. As Syris (Saab Viggen) can contest, there were numerous times where my car went sideways on the hairpin turns. As a DSM community and friends, I don't think its appropriate to make any negative comments what so ever, since we can save that for the honda or domestic guys. Chris mentioned that his brakes were smoking, which is a sign of either hard driving or incorrect driving, but that fact remains that from leisurely driving brakes don't begin to smoke. There were some guys who went slower than others and I know from experience that it was no problem passing them and moving on without looking back. All in all, i was happy with the turnout and glad to see some new people! And please, respect eachothers driving style, regardless of it perhaps being a joke or not!

Well said. By the way, what car was yours? There were a few 1st gens there, all damn nice too. Too bad that older guy with the red 1G didnt come and hang out, haha..he looked like a lost kid when he seen all those DSMs in the corner. I remember him saying "I talked to this guy with an Eclipse once..." He was in complete shock at all those DSMs. It was awesome :thumb:

Chris (spooled) i am the guy with the maroon 1Gb. The guy that was meant when Alec said "who owns the 1st gen who kept riding my ass!"

that red 2g all the way to the right, what he think he driving? A pontiac?
