Make sure you have NO Power Steering Fluid leaks dripping on your Alt - that will kill the Voltage Regulator in a Heartbeat & can toast your ECU... If you haven't replace EVERY O Ring on your PS Pump you need to NOW.

I put it on Car Ramps & come from underneath so no need to remove Fan - It's still a PITA...

- I had my Bumper to Bumper guy look up the Highest Amp Mitsu Alternator that would fit a 1G:

- Max amperage 121 amps

- 100 amps at 3000rpm

- Max 1548 watts

- Manufacturer Ampere - Ampere P/N 21491

- Cost was about $150.00

- I run a 1 Farad Cap too with an El-Cheapo Battery that pushes a 500 Watt Sony Amp & head Unit no problems - no dimming, etc.

when i drive it is fine but when i come to a stop it just dies then it starts back up right away so what could the prob be? i just had new seals put on and a new pressure hose so i dont think its leakin PS fluid

Hey Buck,

Can you get any other part numbers for that Alt info you keep posting?? I have called my local Bumper to bumper, and asked them to look up that manufactures Ampere/part number and they tell me it doesn't come up on the computer. Then when I tell them to look up the highest output Alt for a DSM all they come up with is the 65 amp and 75 amp stock replacements.

Thanks

All that Info came straight off the Manufacturer's Test Sheet that was in the Box the Alt came in - What I asked my Parts guy to do was give me the Highest output Stock Alt that would fit my 91 AWD - REGARDLESS of what car the Alt was actually for - (Hyundai, Chrysler, Diamante - whatever). I specifically posted the Ampere P/N vice the Bumper tp Bumper P/N because each Auto Part place can have their own P/N's but should be able to crossover the MFR P/N - It fit great & has performed great for about a year.

i got mine from autozone part# 14877 its a 110 amp if i remember correctly with a lifetime warranty but with a down fall of 200 dollars :thumbdown

o well i guess it costs to be a pimp LOL
