hey i was wondering if the 2.0 fwd nt and t are the same as the 1.8 manual trans...i heard it somewhere but if someone can give me their part #'s so i can make sure, id appreciate it.

the 2.0 n/t and 1.8l n/t fwd tranmisions are the same. there was someone who bolted up a 2.0 turbo fwd trans to there 1.8l and worked fine except it was a 1.8l turbo so it could handle the bigger ratio trans. the awd trans is very diferent ;)

so if i get a 2.0 turbo motor for my car the trans will bolt up and be fwd without problems?

no i would not put a 1.8l tranny on a 2.0 turbo. the ratio's in the tranny are not big enough. for the 2.0 turbo u will have to get a 2.0 turbo tranny

im not going to put a stock 1.8 trans on im going to take it and get it beefed up over at turbotrix...also do any of you know where i could try to locate a engine wiring harnees kit that converts your original wiring to the new wiring..they have a kit for the 2.0 nt to 2.0 turbo.

no point in getting a 1.8 tranny beefed up the ratio's in it suck ass, you would not boost full untill 4th or so it's really not a tranny you want to use....

If you used a 1.8 trans in a turbo car the turbo clutch wouldnt fit inside it, the NT cars have a smaller bellhousing. If useing a 1.8 trans youd have to go with some kinda upgraded NT clutch for that car.

Do you have any idea what your talking about? The lower gears in the 1.8 trans would benefit 1/4 miles times, in a turbo car.

really you think the 1.8 trans will be able to handle about 600 hp im putting a 4g64 crank in

The 1.8 tranny is just as strong as any stock turbo transmission, estimate how long a fwd turbo tranny would hold up to 600hp and you looking at the same. If your gonna produce that kinda power get a race built tranny.

see ive also seen fwd trans's with awd internals in them so its more capable of handling higher hp thats what i planned on doing since bm tranny hooked up with jeff hill and turbotrix

yeah thats whats i was thinking getting my current trans with awd internals in to handle to the power
