i'm finally done with the 1g head swap and i went to start my car. nothing  i've done the following: jump the clutch switch, tested my starter, and i know the ignition works because the fuel pump comes on. is there anything else i can look at, so i can get my car on the road. you guys seem to know your stuff, any help would great :thumb: :dsm:

have you hooked up all of the sensors properly? is the cas hooked up? is your maf plugged in?

cas is hooked up, but i have 4 plugs that i have no idea where they go. btw i have a maft

im willing to bet that if you find where those plugs go your car will start. someone with more experience in this topic needs to post and tell you where they go. if you could post a picture that might help a bit. gl.

check also if your cam angle sensor is properly installed since you swapped to a 1G head you had to throw the wiring for it all over again cuz the 2G have it next to the crank so check that and also those four plugs any little thing can cause one of these cars not to start. check if you have injector pulse and spark on your cables maybe your spark plugs are fouled that can be it too! does your tach move when you try to crank the engine if it doesnt most likely its your cam angle sensor if your tach doesnt work trust me on that i had that problem. if any questions just reply back to me :talon:

my car is a 98 so i use my cas, rre said it's interchangable. i'm not getting anything when i turn the key, all i hear is the fuel pump. spark plugs are brand new, i'll check to see if the cas is backwards or if i have the coil plug mixed.

Recheck your connectors....CAM angle sensor, Crank Angle sensor, Fuel Pressure Solenoid, MAS, Injectors, Coil Packs and Ignitor. You probably forgot to hook up the Crank Angle Sensor. Any of the following will more than likely throw a CEL....EVAP, EGR, TPS, MAP, AC

Also, make sure your plugs are in the correct order

To find out the easiest way to see if its you cas just check for injector pulse and spark if you dont have any of both then its most likely your cas. The wires and the injectors get their signal from the cas so when it goes bad you got no spark and no injector pulse and most likely your tachometer doesnt work. Thats what happened to me when it went bad i put it and it cranked perfect. Perfect injector pulse, perfect spark the car ran like new so check that and also check for any cut wires very important on a cas mying was giving false signals because of cut wires too so check all of that, hope any of my tips come in handy. :talon:
