WOW, happy day. Finaly after a few weeks have I gotten all of my stuff installed, which Includeds:

FP Evo3 16g
Custom Oil system with large cooler, huge filter, thermostat and AN lines.
DSMLink V2
RNR o2 Elminiator downpipe.
Highflow cat
and some other small bits.

It seems to work great, I set it at low boost seting, .6 bar (8psi) and it held it pretty well athough it may creeped up to .7 but that is still fine with me. The porting job i did on it was great, I followed Tarantula's job. Here are some pics!

PLEASE feel free to ask anything about the install, i learned so much.

That all looks good. Not sure about the wrap on the manifold but the rest looks good. Typically exhaust wrap needs to be extremly tight for it to be effective. If it's not tight to the surface and has gaps it's pretty well useless.
 
its relativly tight, it may look loose but its tight in most places, it does seem to contain the heat. the small section on the wastegate ruturn tube is very tight, which is good cause it sits RIGHT near the fan
 
you might want to rewrap that. when working with that heatwrap, its best to get it wet prior to putting it on. when wet, it goes on super tight, way way way tighter than it looks there.
 
Everything I've ever heard about header wrap says to keep moisture away from it, because it will rust the manifold. I don't think soaking the wrap, and then putting it on would be a good idea.
 
Here are a few more pictures of the oil stuff. Thanks for the pointers on the wrap. Ill try to get a few more shots of the finished install tommow. Also what should Oil temps be around?

Cool setup, it's similar to what I'm putting on my car now. I already have a giant ford filter in the fenderwell (1qt capacity), now I'm running a new cooler. Is that a tru cool? It looks similar to mine.
Having the oil cooler mounted with the ports down can cause air to be trapped in the top portion so it is never fully effective. I found that out the hard way. Flip it over and figure out a different way to mount the lines.
190-200 degrees cruising. If you have a 180 thermostat it probably won't go much over 185 cruising.
 
OH man, i wish i knew that erlier... uhg changeing the orientation is almost imposible where i put it. so meby ill look into it next oil change. Man... meaby ill run a vac onto a line positioned above the top of the cooler so that i can take all the air out or something. Well ill figure it out. My oil was reletivly cool durrign the first few neibourhood runs, it rose to about 140 or so before i turned it off, while colant temps were up around 200.

BTW the cooler i have is the b&m racing cooler that jegs sells. its 8x11x1.5

It clearly states in the instructions that the wrap is to be applied after slightly wetting.

i did that because that pipe is pretty much touching my fan, i also put some heat shield tape on the fan. the reason i didnt wrap everything was because i heard its not a good idea to wrap aluminized cause it will promote faster rusting. in this case i chosse the lesser of two evils.
 
:thumb: EXCELLENT JOB on the porting. Looks real good. I'm seriously considering getting a cooler for my oil as well. Did you get an External Oil Cooler Filter Mount - Seven-bolt motor from the Lancer Evolution original part? Or other.

To prevent heat from radiating to the surrounding engine bay, at the same time as maintain exhaust gas velocity.

That's the purpose of exhaust wrap anyway.

Yeah tell me about it, on the 91 I did it on I ended up have to buy another 3' of -8 line after the intial install. I was not happy that day.
I just grabbed my cooler and it is the EXACT same thing, just under a different name. I'm not sure what B&M sells for, but the tru cool ones can be found at www.racerpartswholesale.com
I paid $80 for an 11x11x1.5 core.
 
i paid like 50 i think, well we shall see how it feels after some initial driving, i may beable to change the orientation but at this point a feel like not working on my car for a while.

Tarantula, thanks for the compliments i spent so long just grinding and when i thought i was done i went to sleep so that i could make the desision with a cool head. I have posted a pic of my oil set up for anyone who is intersted, it is composed of B&M cooler, Permacool thermostat, filter housing, addapter, Fram HP1 Racing filter, and aeroquip socketless connectors with some heat sheild over the tubing near the exhaust parts. I'm using the stock oil housing with no provissions for any cooler at all. If i did it over i may use the air cooler one and put a block off plate on the filter. but live and learn

Nice oil cooler set up but I think its over kill for a car thats on the street. On a road corse I can see, but what benifits will you get on the street? Isnt the factory 1g 90 cooler enough?? :confused:
