Anyone with experience installing either a 2G instrument cluster bezel and/or an autometer phantom boost gauge willing to assist in an installation: please send me an email or an IM if I'm on. There are specific questions I have that I can't find reference to in ANY installation page/website. I don't have a shop here locally that I can trust to do it for me, so I'm trying to be cautious to make sure I don't hose it. Thanks in advance!

Okay, I'm utterly frustrated and need assistance.

Where the hell do you feed the lines from on the 2g cluster bezel? There is NO room to do anything. I can't even get the damn phantom gauge to fit without cutting off the dumb screws in the back much less see a route to thread the lines.

All of you who've done this, where did you tap your hose? ExteremeMotorsports told me to tap the line with the blue dashes, and I hear otherwise from lots of other people. Why?

Thirdly, where is the correct place to connect the wires? People complain about bad voltage readings and usually its because of bad gauge taps ... I've read/seen about a dozen different spots. Please let me know where and how you connected/grounded your units.

Thanks in advance ... I'm goin outta my mind here.

Well I just TODAY Installed my Auto-meter Phontom boost gauge.......now what seems to be the prob? I installed using the Autometer Duel Side Piller mount? I taped the wire into the cruise Control..heh heh, pull it out using a screwdriver, and cut the GREEN WIRE W/ A WHITE STRIP ON IT, and STRIP them, then run the wire from teh gauge to it, and use a wire SCREW, it's used to connect 3-or more wires together, ya know what I mean? then I ran the ground to the bolt that hold the fuse box on the bottom left of the driverside. well hit me up, if ya need more help

underneath the battery tray there is a grommet in the firewall.. thats where you feed wires from the engine bay into the cabin of the car.. then under the dash up to where the a-pillar would go.. its really not hard to get it up there..

uhm.. not sure what you mean where did u tap it.. you tap the fuel pressure regulator line hose.. doesnt matter where on the hose..

pretty sure he's running it to that in dash bezel with the two gauge pods not an a-pillar. check out vfaq.com for a good how-to. that should show you where to tap the vacuum line from and what wires to "t" off of for power.
since you got a 2G you can "t" off some wires that will allow the light in the gauge to come on when the car lights are on. go to the 2G Go Faster Pages and click on the FAQ/How to section, then on Boost Gauge. there a how to with a diagram of a wiring harness near the fuse box by your clutch foot. it tells which wires to "t" to get the lights and power right.
don't know anything about how to run the lines for a dash bezel. you're on your own there.

OK iv done it and was quite easy.

1st question: were to tap. Any vacume line coming for the intake manafold. The blue dashed one is fine.

2. Run the holse threw the stearing wheel gromet.. just cut a small hole with like sizors and get a coat haner.. Now feed the hanger threw the hole till you see it on the other side. Tap the Hose to the hanger and pull it threw into the car.

3rd. How to get it to the bezel. On the left side of the cluster there is a spot you can run wires. Again use a coat hanger to feed it threw, just like you did in step 2. There is some room on the left side of the bezel however the right side there is like no room.

4th. Tap for power. You can use the sigaret lighter power for this. That is what i used, ran the power under the stearing colum to the other side. just like the boost line you ran.

5th and final. Put everything together... presto. your done.

I heard that the dotted blue vac. line was not the correct one, I tapped mine into the other vac. line comming from the same place, and I have correct readings, I forgot what site said not to tap it to the dotted one, I think it was on the VFAQ site

Why have I heard so many conflicting opinions on where to tap the T-fitting? This makes no sense. It should go on ONE line, not either or. Either before the solenoid or after. Which is it?

Look at the link that Vinnie posted-- on that page hit the button on the left that says "FAQ/How To" and on the next page select "Boost Gauge". About halfway down is the explanation and a pic on where to tap. This is how I did mine and I've had no problems with it.

And yeah, I've heard that the instrument cluster bezel isn't quite deep enough for some gauges, but mine fit OK in it.

The T fitting can go anyware!!! it does not matter. As long as its a vacume line attached to the intake manafold. They all get the same pressure, some maybe a little better than other for some odd reasons but they are all the same. As long as its a vacum line coming from the intake manafold IT will work.
