The Killer will spool quicker but the Big 16G will have more top end flow mostly because of a bigger turbing housing. It is really what you are looking for.

I personally want faster spool because I have a FWD Auto, therefore I dont get wheelspin as bad as the FWD manuals (less aggressive gearing). Plus it is much more fun to drive a car that gets quick spoolup with better throttle response.

I like the killer over the FP Big28 because the Killer uses a bigger compressor housing, I think this may help keep the charged air from heating up as much as it slams against the housing.

What ever choice that you make, make sure it is with a company that has PROVEN turbos. I made my decision by going with FP because most of all the fast cars over at the times list at dsm.org are running FP turbos. FP is the ONLY company that has had a Big28, NOT Big T-28 into the 11's as of yet, of course that was with alot of supporting mods, and awd, but none the less the FP Big28 has run 11's. The FP Big28 and Big 16g are almost identical in performance. The FP big28 has only been out for a little over a year now and is putting out time slips very comparible if not better than a Big 16g, which has been out for years. I would bet money that FP, AGP and Turbochargers.com's 28 series turbos will all support the same amount of power IMHO.

What makes a turbo "PROVEN"? If it is on the times list is it proven ?
What happened to the subject ?

Yes... if it's on the times list, very much so IMO! Especially when 1/2 of the fastest cars on the list are running that particular companies turbos, and or products. I'm just merely stating an opinion, my opinion thats all. If a man is going to invest his hard earned money into a turbo, whats wrong with going with a company that has been PROVEN over time?

Back to the SUBJECT a Big 16g has been well proven over time as well. The way I look at it is this T-28 killer = 2g, FP Big28 = 2g, and the AGP T-28 = 2g because of the direct bolt on capabilities. You basically can't go wrong with either of them. They will all flow basically like a Big 16g. I guess it all just depends on whether or not you want to invest in an installation kit. Unless you get a Big 16g with a rotated compressor housing, then that's another story. Anyways... I personally think the deal that Turbochargers.com has right now with the 16g is a STEAL. iF I didn't already have my ported FP Big28, I would jump on that deal in a heart beat. 16g's are definately PROVEN!

i was gonna get a killer, but my core was cracked
looks like big16g and 2g install kit for $800 then...

course, the best of both worlds would be that badass aireaserch compressor housing on the b16g core :D

Dude, you don't understand, they place the turbo in the box in a bag, then fill it with foam that hardens into an indestructable cocoon...it took me a good 20 minutes of careful digging (i didn't want to stab my new turbo either). :D

i second that, after a while i was wondering if the turbo was even in there OMG

If the only reason your not getting the 16g is because of the install then look here they have the b16g bolt on for a 2g I myself am in the middle of turbos thats why i thought this was kool. www.slowboyracing.com. :thumb:

talk about digging a post out of the grave, this is over 1 1/2 years old OMG

 I know I know i did a search and this hit and is my situation now! I have a severe case of "boost deprivation" my turbo just went  I need to decide and need help!

this is great, now i have my questions answered. I was thinking of the FP Big28 and getting the turbine housing ported. Its all in prefrence i guess. I have to wait if any one will buy my car before i go moding mine.... I seen that one of the posters here"stangtt" said that he got one of these 28 and did an install of end clutch and shift kit for his auto, How did it go?

I think hes come a long way from the 28 , he now has a 50 trim if i'm not mistaken with all mods. So i hope that helps some. If your gonna go for a 16g and already have most supporting mods dont cut yourself short get a 18g,20g, 50 trim.....
Ive never have driven anything other than the t25 on my fwd. And as soon asi got the awd
i had the block freshened ,etc. got a 50 and all mods. why get something like a 16g with install kit when you can get a 50 trim for about same price ? give or take $200.

Because some people may not want to live with the lag of a 50-trim, especially on an A/T. I'm still debating it myself.

The lag isnt that bad, saves gas driving around town or in the city.LOL
With the right setup an AT can see boost at under 3500 rpms, Not way under , but before.
Thats very streetable.
High stall TQ
3" o2 elimin.
Tubular exhuast manni
etc....ect....etc........

Wow! Back from the dead! I have come quite a long way from the good ol killer days. See my profile for the current setup.
Anyone that has an A/T shouldn't be affraid to go with a 50 trim. Anywho, my killer suffered from many cracked developing in the turbine housing. This was caused mainly from the small housing overheating. This was daily driving on 18psi. Otherwise, the rest of the turbo is perfect.
Anyone looking for a direct bolt on 2gen turbo, there are many better choices out there. I would not do another Killer. ;)

I just bought the killer today and now you post this :( I hope im not walking down the wrong road here. Did you have major problems with yours? Im not looking for 10s here but I do want something thats very workable.
p.s. dont mean to hijack!

ok ok we all know that the killer and b16g make about the same power...one has quick spool up and the other has great top end. the other t28 variants flow about the same as a s16g so either way you go you get a good turbo...
