    Machine shop's fault?

I did get a build sheet but it did not include clearances; only dollar amounts for the service/part

    Machine shop's fault?

    Thats my question.

    Machine shop's fault?

So it could be machining, bearing clearances, and or bad/clogged oilers. None of which are on me

    Machine shop's fault?

No specific warranty info was given. I have a receipt with all the services and prices but that's it.

    Machine shop's fault?

10-30 mobil conventional oil changed at 150 then 500 miles. I wouldn't have used the cranked but the shop sounded so completely confident that they convinced me to go with it. Clevite bearings were used for the rods and mains.

    Machine shop's fault?

The shop assembled the bottom end. I assume they did

    Machine shop's fault?

Ok but the shop measured, machined, and checked the crank/bearings for clearences before I wrote them a $1000 check.

    Machine shop's fault?

At 175,000, I spun a rod bearing so I decided to rebuild: 7 bolt, balance shaft elimination, eagle rods, Aries 20 over positions, clevite over sized main and rod bearings etc. I had a local machine shop machine my crank, balance and assemble the shortblock, just to be safe. I assembled the rest...

rpm drop noise with clutch engagement

There's no way there going to buy me new gaskets. They only assembled the shortblock. If they do, maybe I'll find another roller in better shape. Even then, I wouldn't trust the engine after they messed it up the first time. This is my dd, or, was my dd

rpm drop noise with clutch engagement

Spun a rod bearing at 175,000 miles

rpm drop noise with clutch engagement

The only update is that ive decided to part it out. I havnt torn it down or taken it back to them yet. I don't have the $ to replace all of the gaskets/oil/coolant etc again and I especially don't have the time. I'm just really discouraged over this and it is terrible that this shop has...

rpm drop noise with clutch engagement

What's the best angle at approaching the machine shop that did my bottom end to get this worked out?

rpm drop noise with clutch engagement

Tom, I wish your luck came to me.I have .025" of crank end play.

rpm drop noise with clutch engagement

Just recently built my motor after a rod bearing failure. The bottom end was professionally machined, balanced, and assembled. I have almost 700 miles on it and noticed right from the start that when I pushed the clutch (act 2600 with a street disc on an act flywheel) in, my rpms drop a lot. I...
