I'm looking to buy a set of aftermarket valve springs with retainers. Ideally I would like a set of Kiggly Steel Street's, but also wouldn't mind a set of BC's either. However, I am open to other brands as well. Please let me know what you have.

He’s 100% correct. You can’t simply take cam caps out of one head and bang them in another and say it’s good, these are only good to the cylinder head they came off of, if that head is trashed then these are scrap aluminum as well. If someone...
These will be almost 99% useless to anyone without the head. Why dont you have the head to go with them? Whats wrong with the head the caps were removed
I have used heads with FAR worse issues. You are worried for a reason but that little burr will smooth out and you are fine. Rest easy!
If you sand it, CLEAN it, just a reminder. No grit in the motor! :thumb:
Oh man, you should see my head's journals LOL
they're smooth but they've been nicked and banged over the years of its life. On the edge and as long as it's not poking upwards, you're fine. Absolutely agree with Marty. The 1000 grit is just to...
It will be OK. If it makes you feel better, take some 1000 grit wet/dry sandpaper and just work the little nick out. If you can't feel it, your OK. It is just aluminum and the cams are hardened steel so it will conform if it needs to.
Thank you for the reply, as always.I was thinking the aluminum head vs. steel cam would work in my favor, so thank you for that reassurance.I was hesitant to hit it with any abrasive for fear of making it worse, but if I do, I'll go with the...
Upon removing my valve seals for replacement it appears I nicked the edge of a cam cap. It is really hard to get a good picture of what I am referring to, but I tried. The nick isn’t on the contact surface of the cam cap, but rather the “edge”...
I just pulled the head on the 1996 7-Bolt that I took out of my Spyder GST. Upon doing so, I found the exhaust valves had an uneven white crusty substance on their faces as well as a white substance on the valve stems, viewable through the...
Fuel pump, an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator, engine/tuning management (i.e. ECMLink), a boost gauge, and boost controller should be in that list if you're running 18psi and upgraded injectors. Also consider adding a wideband and any other...
Ok, thank you for the replies. That pretty much confirmed what I was concerned about possibly happening in regard to oil past the piston rings and into the combustion chamber, and also into the valve cover baffles from the valve train. Those...
