This probably has been asked before; with that said I searched quite a bit but only found things about automatics shifting strangely or people have grinding/ shifting problems.I know the manual says to shift at:
2: 15
3: 25
4: 35
5: 45but I know that is very conservative, when I am...
I have the exact same issue, I run my car till its on Empty then the gas light comes on and off, I fill up and it takes about 12 gallons, yet the manual says I have a 15 gallon tank.
I think for mine it might be just the fact that the gas gauge is not accurate. How can you check to see if...
I am not too suprised to find DSM owners are liking automatic transmissions.
From what I have been able to learn reading about the pro's and con's of each, with a turbo charged car your going to notice more benefit from a automatic.
The reason for this is due to the fact that a automatic...

I dont think its a very good idea to downshift like that at higher speeds but I could be wrong.
On a similar note something I have noticed with my car is this:
Whenever I am going through the gears and am accelerating there is a point where the car almost loses power, im not sure if this is...
That makes sense, I did shift it fast when it happened.
I have a ACT 2100 I beleive (bought the car with it on there)I assume doing it once wont really hurt the clutch too much.Only other mods I have until I can save some more money is a RRE Upper IC piping.
I was thinking it might have been the clutch because of the RPM change but wasnt sure.
I guess I'll try to test and find out where it is comming from..Thanks
I would check the timing belt, water pump, tune up, all fluids.
basicly be absolutely sure to get all your basic mantanence out of the way before anything.
since you have a Cat-back, I would look into a intake after that. (increase airflow is normally a good thing)
I have a strange question.
I am still new to my DSM and this is my first turbo car.Yesterday I was driving home and I normally drive my stick nice and easy, I decided to push it a little and was shifting through the gears around 4k to 5k at shift.
I shifted into 5th and the RPMs went up a...
I got a couple people to listen to it as well and it sounds like its comming from under the shifter if that makes sense.
I'll check the linkage first to see if thats it. off to vfaqs it looks like.
thanks Sumenio.
I did quite a few searches comprised of every variant of: click, second gear, sound, shifting, shift.I found a lot of people having problems with grinding gears and broken synchros etc.My problem seems to be slightly different so I wanted to post a question to see what everyone thinks...
Yeah I took the Eclipse I bought to RRE before I got it and they checked for Crankwalk.
While there is nothing you can do to prevent crankwalk really it is good to know if it is starting or if it is already occuring. From what I have been told between .6 and .9 is normal. (I unfortunity...
The reason everyone is questioning the motor is this.NA means Naturally Asperated, (aka. no turbo)... but you said it was a 92 awd turbo so that is why they are asking.8.5:1 compression sounds right for upgraded turbo internals, most NA motors run higher compression (I dont know what...
All I can say is I have tuned and build N/A cars for a couple years and I bought my first Turbo car last night (98 GSX) and I can safely say you will LOVE the turbo. At least I did, the power is crazy.
