I may show up to this one but the Colt won't be a roller until next year. Hopefully going to have the engine in by late July/August. Even by the next MOD it may not be drivable.

If your mechanic thought that the car wasn't worth saving over such a small issue you should start looking for a new mechanic.

Easy fix, take it to a competent body shop and have them cut out the previously repaired portion of the shock tower and replace it with new metal. Not rocket science.
