    2019 Shootout Photos and Videos

Unfortunately my Tuners t-shirt died years ago and the hoodie I still have would have killed anyone wearing it from heat exhaustion. HahaI'll be sure to bring the hoodie next year and hang it from the canopy.Video of the 11.90 pass:

    2019 Shootout Photos and Videos

Been attending since 2007 and the return of Max Effort prompted me to compete for the first time. Bought this '99 GS-T in March with the sole intent to autoX with my family for the year. Car came with lots of problems like RTV on injector seals and cork TB gaskets... Was on a 100% eBay 16g and...

How do I get this off of my Turbo

Probably ended up being a 12 point socket rather than a 6 point? Good to hear you got it off.All shafts have that flat spot on the end of the shaft. It is not specifically for balancing, it is there to facilitate removal of the nut that holds the assembly together.

How do I get this off of my Turbo

There is a flat spot on the hot side. Using a vice or vice grips you should be able to hold it sufficiently to take the nut off of the compressor wheel.

How do I get this off of my Turbo

The turbine is usually part of the shaft, the compressor wheel comes off and the shaft is pulled out of the housing. The nut holding the compressor wheel on is indeed reverse threaded.

    Garrett FREIGHTLINER Intercooler

I know of another car that ran 50 psi and didn't even have an intercooler. The owner's name was John Shepherd. He didn't just use meth to cool the intake charge, he burned it and ran 7's.

    Garrett FREIGHTLINER Intercooler

So it probably does have more surface area than MOST other intercoolers. I bet my 4" GReddy core had close to the same surface area though. Other than WOW factor using this on your car is just not a wise venture.

    Garrett FREIGHTLINER Intercooler

What is in reach? The hood will not close correctly with that in your car. Take some measurements and calculate the surface area of that thing. Yes it has huge frontal area but it is what 1.25" thick? This is why most intercoolers on our cars are 2.5" to 4" thick. Smaller frontal area but same...

Major Major Weight Reduction - 1g

2300lb AWD DSM sounds to me like tube chassis, lexan and carbon fiber. No way this can be achieved on an OE 1g chassis. MAYBE with a carbon fiber/tin interior and back/front halfed tube chassis. But that would not constitue an OE chassis....

    '89 Summit LX

Is all good man! If the 1.6 gives up the ghost there will be a 2.0 waiting to go right in. I have wanted to play with a 1.6 for a while and this provides the best opportunity.

    '89 Summit LX

It is a NA 4g61. It is clean on the outside but upon removing the carpet for cleaning I found this:I will be cutting this rot out and replacing it with new material.I traded my '93 Mazda MX3 which had 226,000 miles on it and paid $750 for this Summit. But the Summit came with a...
