Would it be the same if I just ran a wire from the Negative side of the battery all the way back and join them together to the negative wire of the fuel pump. That way it can be grounded direct

I never had to cut any wire while I was installing the fuel pump. It was a direct fit the stock clip was the same as the pump one so I didnt cut anything. :confused:
