Resolved Oil Pump Housing Screw is Stripped. Need info on it.

dynatos, thanks for posting your findings. However, I strongly encourage anyone looking for a replacement to buy something with a head that is much less likely to strip (as opposed to a Phillips head). I realize the head on the factory bolt stripped mostly because of the soft material (or so it...

Resolved Oil Pump Housing Screw is Stripped. Need info on it.

Just an update to the thread to add some more info and pictures since I've gotten several requests and questions about it. First of all, I actually have a number to match to this screw now. It's M6 with a 1.00 x 16 thread. Now that you have the measurement, you should be able to find it at a...

I missed my SAT yesterday and now I feel horrible.

That's the truth. Some colleges could care less about what you got on them and care more about your GPA (including where I go to school...PSU). I got a 1950 on the new one for the record back when I took them. I believe I had the first year of the new version.

    Finally!

Actually even though I am selling this one, I plan on picking up another sometime soon. I have a '95 Maxima as well that has been my daily driver for 3.5 years, so if I sell both cars I may consider picking up another AWD 2G except maybe auto (for DD purposes) and modding it a bit.

    College Football...?

    PSU ftw! :D

    Finally!

So after about two months of working on my Talon (which I bought with numerous issues) once or twice a week for a couple hours it's finally done. It runs and drives great. Only thing left is the driver's door handle, the driver's door seal, and the paint. The unfortunate reality is that I am...

MacBook Pro 17" vs 15.4" Laptop

The 17" is not worth the extra money, in my opinion. I have the 15.4" myself and love it. Like everyone else has said, it's basically the perfect size for lugging around. Personally I don't understand the need for 17" in a laptop; it's so big that it sort of defeats the whole reason behind...

    Newbish ? from a veteran

Are you guys even reading the thread or just talking out your rear ends? :toobad: He is NOT ASKING if these turbos came on a DSM. His reason for asking has nothing to do with buying them from a vendor, either. This thread makes my head hurt from the complete lack of observation and reading...

    Downpipe Size

Yeah I bought it like this. Dropping the downpipe is no problem. The flex section allows me to move it out of the way to do most anything that would require you to remove the downpipe.

    Newbish ? from a veteran

Exactly. How are you all not picking up on that? He wants to know if ANY...as in, DSM or non-DSM, cars actually came from the factory with an 18G or 20G. I'm willing to bet if you dig around a bit some of that stuff probably came on some Mitsu commercial truck or something.

    Downpipe Size

It's the one between the downpipe and O2 housing. Literally my downpipe, cat, and cat-back are all one piece welded together. No flanges. It sucks. This is why I am replacing the whole thing eventually ROFL

    Newbish ? from a veteran

Did you even read what you just quoted? :toobad:To the OP, your question isn't really newbish. If you weren't able to find the information on here, try doing a Google search and just skip past all the DSM vendor websites at the top of the results ROFL

    Downpipe Size

The piping is pretty thin but you're right, it might be 2.25". For the record, the entire exhaust was custom-made by the previous owner. If it is indeed 2.25" I can just grab a stock-sized gasket then. I guess I better re-measure it!

    Downpipe Size

I'm in a bit of a dilemma here with my downpipe. I bought the car with a totally aftermarket exhaust and was TOLD the cat and cat-back were 3". Fine enough. Didn't think to ask on the size of the downpipe. It LOOKED to be 2.5", so that's what I assumed it was until I measured it last night. It...

    Really happy with DSMs

No offense, but removing the rear seats is hardly a good indicator of how easy a car is to work on. I do agree with you though in that there's plenty of space (especially with the A/C and cruise control removed) to work on these things and it seems like if you have a fair set of metric tools you...
