Update:Took the car to the track for the first time and was severely disappointed. I was not able to stall the converter at all. I tried more fuel, less fuel, more timing, less timing, advance intake cam. And every combination of those.First pass was 28psi with low timing and ran a...
Dyno-dynamics as well. I'll probably tap out the stock ignition before I hit the 700 mark though. But if I can't hit 9s with my current setup, i'm doing something wrong and or something broke.
Looong break and winter upgrades have occured, car is almost back together.Trans upgrades:
I've replaced the stock torque converter with a sinister "spoolinator".
In the trans I've installed a Translab shift kit, IPT end clutch kit, and welded the center diff.
Added a larger trans cooler and...

Got the shaft back from the shop. They couldn't balance it because a carrier bearing was out of wack. Replaced that along with the U joint next to it and I'm still having the issue. It'll be going back to the shop with the other new carrier bearing once it gets here.
Got new tires and an alignment today. It feels like the vibration is better, but that could be placebo. After I got home I pulled the DS and dropped it off to get balanced. I'm picking it up Friday and I'll give another update.
The thing is, it didn't do this when I drove it home from where I bought it. Since then I've rebuilt the motor. And reinstalled the awd system. The car still had the rear diff in it, but it had a fwd transmission. He grenaded the TC, which is why he did the swap.
I got a quote for 50$ to balance the driveshaft. I'm going to get that done, as well as check the wheels. Rotate the tires to see if that helps. Thanks for the input.
I've tried pressing the brakes to see if it improved, it didn't. I did piece together a driveshaft due to the previous owner disassembling the cv joint and losing some of the ball bearings inside. I got the car as fwd with some awd parts, but it is an original awd car. Could that piece together...
I'm getting a vibration that starts to get noticable at 55, then grows to a substantial vibration at 70. It's a fast, almost buzzing vibration that produces a slower "wah wah" at around 70. Yolk is new. New fluid in TC, tranny, and diff. There's also a noticeable separate vibration when I'm...
Right on. I've ordered 2150 injectors from them before and they didn't include the pigtails as they said it would. So they sent me the PNP harnesses for no charge at all. Seems like a great company to deal with. Nice to have that for our community.
Wow, that's awesome. I asked them and they said it would be the minimum charge to get it done. Plus they'll probably go through the rest of it and fix that if need be as well.
Fixed. Swapped in the ecu from my other car and I got 5v at the tps and map sensor. No need to replace the tps now... IC101 seems to be the culprit. Thinking about repairing it myself. Although it'll only be 40$ to send it in.Thanks for the help!
Anything is possible with enough time and money. Make an intake manifold for it and I'm sure it could work. But what would the purpose of that be? These motors are pretty crappy in N/A form.
