  1. Weapons owners Check-in [Merged 10-6]

Been away for quite some time, but I just picked up my newest addition to my very very small collection.I needed something between my little 9mm (Springfield XD) and my Mossberg 500A 12g shotty. I also wanted to be able to use this as a carry pistol if I end up getting my CCW license. What...
  2. Surging Problem... $100 reward to who fixes it!

Yoy say you changed the FIAV, but just to double check, do you have the coolant lines still running through the throttlebody or do you have them blocked? I assume you still have them, since if they are blocked a good/bad FIAV will pretty much act the same, but just wanted to check.
  3. PICS: StreetThisTuning 3" Turbo-Back Exhaust & Random Engine Build Pics

Just my 2cents;I REALLY hated my custom exhaust when I had no muffler and no cat. It is a full 3" from the turbo back with a 3" tube o2 w/dump. The exhaust was so loud, that I couldnt even hear when I was dumping and when I wasnt. I didnt get hassled by any law enforcement, but it just...
  4. Weapons owners Check-in [Merged 10-6]

Yes.....and no.It is an HS2000 9mm which was the same as the XD, just before Springfield bought them out. I got mine for a whopping $269! :D
  5. Weapons owners Check-in [Merged 10-6]

I prefer 'evil' black guns. ;)Still wish I had my Springfield 1911A1 .45 though. :(
  6. pissed off and curious

well it is a balancing act.I dont know much about the turbo you are wanting to run, but what is it's efficiency range? Will the turbo be happy running 15-16psi, or is it happiest when making 24-26psi?If the turbo is good at 15-16psi, then 9:1 pistons may be ok (again, I know nothing...
  7. How do I keep the wastegate open?

Did everyone miss this? This is the correct answer to the question. You should not be able to build more than a couple (0-3) psi of boost with the actuator rod disconnected.
  8. ported heads

In the end, the 2g head can be ported to flow more than the 1G head. However, this is pretty much a race only need, costs a huge amount, and will not net you ground breaking power without the proper setup.
  9. 14b rebuild- some q's

rebuilding a 14b generally consists of...-new shaft bearings -new thrust bearing -new oil seals (o-rings) -new retaining clipsYou typically need to pull the turbo apart and clean it very good. Get all the oil, coolant, dirt and coked oil off of everything. Then, polish the shaft up...
  10. Home made ocatane booster.

Yes, you are right. That is what I meant. That'll teach me to post anything halfway serious between fixing network and computer problems. :D
  11. Home made ocatane booster.

while toluene and xylene are IMO the best way to boost octane ratings, there are some things you want to remember....Neither toluene nor xylene contain lubricants. Therefore, it is important to add some when you add these to your gas. Otherwise, it will begin to damage you fuel pump...
  12. 14b --2g max boost---IMO

There is no way I would run that high on a 2g with stock fuel system.I have a 14b on my 2g with a 3kgtvr4 fuel pump and am pulling .96.94 o2s at wot with boost set to 15psi. I might try to up the boost a bit, but not too much.
  13. new JDM motor Over heating on idle

I know of several people that had pulled a motor by their 17th b-day. In fact, one of the guys I went to school with had a nicely built 'Cuda that he did the whole thing himself, by the time he was 16.
  14. What is your gas milage?

I typically get about 330-375 miles per tank. However, one time while seeing how far I could stretch it, I got I believe 487 miles on a tank. When I filled it up, it took right about 15gallons.
  15. Could this make my temperature read high?

My guess is that what you said is correct. It makes sense, but I have no experience with nt -> T comversions.
