Pt.3...Made it out the Spyder today to get the parts box I forgot. Turns out it's just rusty clutch parts and a horribly rusty crankshaft, that one will go "In the Bin!" (Love those guys). Got a few interior shots as well. This is not a oem...
I'd take the car back and have them readjust the roof. If they misaligned it, they should be responsible for fixing their mistake. Even the rear window isn't sitting right.
What sensor are you talking about? I see you have a 3G spyder, and we are all 1G and 2G. Not saying you can't ask, but 2G spyders don't have any sensor warning the driver that the top is open or closed. Also, the pic of your car from the back...
Do a boost leak test. That'll pin point MOST of the vacuum leaks. You will probably need to rebuild your throttle body, or at a minimum, replace gaskets and o-rings in/on it. The TB is notorious for leaks. Look around for old dry-rotted vacuum...
If you have a spare oil dipstick, this is the mod for you. Buddy gave this 2g one to me for free but I have a 6 bolt so I couldn’t use it. I had the idea to simply cut off the end and then took off any sharp edges with a dremel and a flap wheel...
Generally speaking, 7-bolt rods cannot be used in a 6-bolt engine and vice versa.Get 6-bolt rods for your 6-bolt block and then modify them to accept the 2G pistons if need be. See here for the machining details.
If you are dead set on using 2G pistons in a 6-bolt (assuming these are actually 2G pistons), get a set of 6-bolt rods and have the wrist pin holes bored 1mm oversize. Then you can install the 2G pistons on them.Beat me while I was typing...
I would never use rods that came "free" with one of them looking that bad. Whatever engine they came from spun a bearing. Just because that one got trashed, you never know how much glitter got recirculated through the oiling system and into the...
It sounds (to me) like you have a definite coolant leak, but where it's sucking air, and not leaking the coolant. Get a coolant system pressure tester and pressurize the system. Look for leaks. If none are present, I'd do the same thing as a...
Most people route it down under the subframe area or actually disconnect it at the rear near the tank and have it vented there. Just do not leave it as is if you have the battery in the oem location and just in general actually as there will be...
Pt.2...I'm now the 4th owner of this Spyder, and it is claimed to have been garaged for most of its life. It started out as a N. Carolina car and made its way to Colorado being exchanged through 2 friends. The body Is in great condition minus a...
