Looking at the 3rd pic it looks like it wasn't backpurged when they welded it. Doesn't look like there's any penetration on that at all. It happens though, you could just be the 1%; its always someone. But if they're willing to reweld for free and stand behind their product then that's a good...
I'll be in Pensacola from April to October next year and I'll be looking to buy a DSM while out there. What shops are out there? I'm probably going to have it built for me since I'll be too busy with Navy A school to work on it myself.
Yes the 50 trim is bigger than the 16g, and it also spools slower. Honestly if I were you, I would get the 16g and check out the Evo classifieds at evolutionm.net. You've guys guys selling their fuel pumps(180 lph) with injectors(560cc) for around 100 bucks together. That's sufficient to get you...
I personally use the NPR pistons. I've had them in the engine for over 12,000 miles now. Mind you I'm only making maybe 300hp at the crank, but I feel like they've held up as they've should.
For me its been the front balance shaft seal. Its a seal right behind the balance shaft sprocket. You'll have to take off the timing belt and balance shaft belt, then remove the 12mm bolt that holds the balance shaft sprocket on to get to it. Hope this helps!
I'm going to have to agree with Gofer on this one. I went last year with my gf and we were sadly disappointed. Although it was cool to see everyone there and some nice cars, I wouldn't make the drive again JUST to go to MOD. Definitely not worth the time. If I had family that lived down there...
Just take off the rod caps, put some rubber hose on the rod bolts so as not to scratch the crank, and then tap each rod/piston up to remove the top bearing. Pretty easy. But I have to ask, why are you replacing the rod bearings? If you spun a bearing or have rod knock, most likely your crank is...
Find a good welder and get the block welded/brazed. If he's good enough, the block should hold for a while. If he isn't, it'll crack again. So make sure he knows what hes doing!
I'd say go with a Magnaflow or Flowmaster muffler. They have a really deep tone on the 4g63. There's a member on here with I believe a magnaflow with single 3'' in, double 2.5'' out and it sounds amazing.
I haven't purchased from that seller specifically, but I have an Ebay front bumper on my 98 and I haven't had any problems with it. My bumper doesn't have the indention either and I like it like that. There aren't any fitment problems with mine so I wouldn't imagine there would be any with the...
I'm having problems with 2.9. Wont let me log at all. I kept getting the error message "Please select a DTC Method/ECU first. Most vehicles support more than one method". So I uninstalled and went back to 2.8 and everything is fine now.
Oh ya I've got that on the shaft. I'm thinking maybe it got out of round when the balance shaft sprocket got messed up. I might just pull the engine so I can get a new front cover and delete the balance shafts. Didn't really want to do that but I might not have a choice.
