Instead of sand paper, use emery cloth. Use something like PB Blaster (a liquid wrench). Like OldMan420 said, EMery cloth is the correct stuff. not sand paper.Ive also always used ScotchBright Pads. They wont scratch the softest of metals. They do a great job.
