A quick check on the pump is to start the car and put it in neutral. Pull a cooler line off and see if any fluid comes out. It's messy, but cheaper than buying a gauge, and gives you instant results. Another pump killer that's often overlooked is the torque convertor bushing that's supposed to...
I think that with a little set up help, anybody can use the Tuner Pro method of tuning. There's enough discussion and BIN files on the Yahoo Groups DSM-ECU for the N/A's. He could be up and running with just a couple of hours worth of reading. All he really has to do is realise what good advice...
These cars use a waste spark type of ignition system. Swap wires 1 and 4 at the coil (same coil) and see if the result moves to #1 or if it stays at #4. This should help you narrow it down to ignition or a cylinder issue.Dale. Youand I were typing at the same time LOL. I had the same...
I just wanted to add that the transmission (Chrysler a604) doesn't have to be pulled to replace the gears. They are under the black cover that you see from the driver's fenderwell.
Did you ever get this resolved? I had another thought about the solenoid pack. The design of the solenoid pack was changed in 2001. All new solenoid packs come with only 1 gasket (that is different) and you are suppossed to throw away the spacer plate and gaskets that were originally on the...
Replace the input speed sensor. When they fail, the TCU will give you "incorrect gear ratio x" because it cannot calculate which gear you are in without the input speed sensor. It also takes a while for the TCU to realise that the sensor is not reading. Each gear requires two internal elemants...
I hate to say this, but check your cam belt timing. I've heard a similar noise when an intake cam jumped three teeth. Also, when the engine is running, if you take off the oil cap, do you see oil flowing?
From your video, it doesn't sound like piston slap. It sounds like you don't have any oil pressure to your head. Is your oil pressure gauge showing good pressure? What kind of engine set up did you build? Mods?
Yup. That's the one. Leave it alone. From your pictures, I can see that there is no balance shaft behind it. When the balance shafts are removed a stub is bolted in the oil pump driven gear in place of the rear balance shaft. There is no reason to remove the bolt to the stub as it will not...
