They're actually both exhaust cams, but if you put one in the intake side, it'll line right up.Even with bad tires, sloppy bushings and a holy shit this is soft suspension, it's still a fun ride to toss through the twisties, but you can't go overboard, it just gets real wobbly when you push...
Haven't been around here since I let my Galant go (worry not, it's in the good hands of an old-school DSM'er). Glad to see this place is still in one piece.:cool:I haven't done anything major with the Corolla hatchback I picked up (renamed Project: Ugly Betty). Just maintenance stuff to...
All placing the MAF after the blow-off is good for is venting to the atmosphere. It won't solve any boost creep issues because that's an issue with the wastegate (you'll either have to port it or switch to an external wastegate). I doubt it'll give you better spool since one of the advantages...
To use the translator, you need to replace the factory MAS with a GM sensor (I'm assuming you know that already). I don't think with the GM mas in place that'll let you pass the visual part.If you have a SAFC, then you don't need a translator. If you get bigger injectors, you can use the...
The ones at the junkyeard are going to be just as bad, you're better off ordering them new. The symborski shift kit will help out a lot in the meantime, though.I'll try to dig up that part number for you.
You have to pull the crank pulley and lower timing cover off to check the marks on the crank. There's a static timing plate that's sandwiched between the cog for the balance shaft belt and timing belt. That plate has a notch in it that should line up with an arrow that's stamped on the oil...
They'll fit, but the front end will sit ridiculously high, and you'd have to cut them to level the car (which I don't recommend doing). The other downside is that if you put those stiff springs in a car with stock shocks, they'll blow out pretty quickly.
Use a floor jack and a block of wood under the oilpan to support the engine's weight. Remove the driver's side engine mount, and the driver's side splash shield. You shouldn't have to raise or lower the engine too far to get to any bolts.
Does it stay running once the engine has fully warmed up?Have you tried adjusting the idle screw on the throttle body?Spark timing is more than just making sure the cams and crank line up, you'll have to make sure the base timing is set for 5* BTDC (not sure how to do that since I don't...
