which turbo will make more power on pump gas...the gt30 (which is the non ball bearing version of the gt30r and flows 52 lbs) or the sc61 (also non ball bearing and flows 65 lbs)...i can get 93 octane here if that makes a difference...thanks...
that is the problem...he might not know much about rebuilding an engine from top to bottom...again like i said...if you are just swapping out pistons...and plastigauging your bearings...the more power to you...but if you are doing a complete build...and you are assembling yourself...find...
never used a venom before but i was one of my top choices when i was about to purchase an intake manifold...from test done by teamnabr...it outflowed all of the competition on the top end beating everyone...but it was horrible on the low end losing to almost everyone...i have heard stories...
as far as a stock rebuilt (throwing stock sized pistons into a stock sized cylinder/throwing some bearings in with some plastigauge) it should be no problem...a built motor on the other hand...i would have a shop do it or have someone very smart helping you along the way...
thing like
boring
honing
micing (assuming you do not have a mic)
weight balancing/matching
rod stretch measuring
and the expericen from them doing it over 50 million times (but then again how do you know that sbr did not just hire a noob and he messed something up)with that being...
i am sure it will not take you more than a month or two to save up money for rods and pistons...if you do the tear down again later...you will be doing a lot more labor and you will have to spend money on a headgasket again...
if you only plan on making 450...and half decent at tuning then stick with the stock rods and pistons...as you should not blow a rod at that hp rating...but on the other hand...since you have the motor open already...maybe you should just do a full build on it...rods and pistons can only be...
most dsm engine builders/vendors will not turn a crank...sbr is the only company that i know that does...the crank from the factory is suppose to nitrate coated or something...people say when you turn the crank it takes away from the coating...thus making it weaker...if you are only...
