I’m soo excited to see this car be brought back to life! I ran into more financial difficulties and had to let my 2g gsx go. I no longer own a DSM after owning one consecutively for over 15 years with a total of at least 40 dsms owned. Good luck to you and your son! Keep the dsm dream alive!
Dang I had some new OEM pistons I could’ve thrown in when you bought my Galant lol. Also, use coffee filters to clean up the walls as they don’t leave any debris behind. Build is looking great!!!
I would’ve bought an aftermarket pan for $65. Probably would’ve been a lot cheaper but can’t wait to see the results! Check out NexxRacing on Facebook for a guy that makes a new style gasket that doesn’t leak- see attached. Glad to see the car coming along!
It’s more than likely a boost leak or bad ISC motor. Start with boost leak testing your car then testing/replacing your ISC motor. Usually when the ISC goes, it takes out the ISC driver on your ECU so you may need to pull the ECU and check for damage if problems persist.
Based on what you’ve said so far, I’m guessing you went to a parts store and just asked for spark plugs.
I’d recommend getting a set of NGK BR6ES spark plugs, gap them to .028” starting out, and set of blue NGK spark plug wires and go from there.
Make sure you gap your spark plugs before...
