It's a 97 eclipse gst manual. The hose seems to route from that top nipple directly down and to the left of the of the oil filter. Seems to be only two smaller cooling hoses on that side.
I've looked very hard at diagrams and have not found this hose nor its routing areas. Here's a picture of the hose and it's top connection and bottom (kind of hard to see). I'd prefer a part number rather than trying to mix and match at the part store since they don't have much for hoses at...
What do you guys think about a bad power transistor? As of yesterday the car starts and runs but still dies mid drive when ever it feels like it. No loss of power or CEL still. Oh and that clicking think only happened once. Every other start and drive it never happened there after so I'm leaning...
I heard a clicking noise once. The usual one when the relay sends when you put the car on the ON position. At one point, it clicked like 30 times in under 6 seconds. Hasn't happened again though. I will be replacing that part on Monday. Pretty sure that is the cause but I'll update with solution...
Hey guys! So I have a 97 GST that started randomly dying the past couple of days at random times. Sometimes I can drive it 3 times a day from cold or hot start but then within the middle of my trips she just shuts off with no warning.- No CEL
- At times she'll start right back up again...
As in? My original post states that the head gasket was replaced and the head went to the machine shop to fix the warping. If you are talking about the other large jobs done on the car, that was 20k ago and I've had no serious issues with the car since then. I mean a CEL here and there but easy...
I'm not sure on this one. Two mechanics, one being the original owner, owned the car before me. When I purchased the car, the guy told me that it did have a new clutch and flywheel installed along with some other major maintenance done. Unfortunately since these guys were working on the car...
Hey guys, I just got my head gasket replaced and on the way home I noticed a strange sound when I push the clutch in and only when I push the clutch in for shifting gears etc. I do know that they removed the whole engine because the cylinder head was warped and needed to go to the machine shop...
Thanks. Will check once the sun is out. Isn't PT/Coil pack a separate CEL code though? I guess if both PTs were bad the ECU would throw a random misfire code instead. I'll let you know in a bit.
97 Eclipse GST with 195k miles. So after 4 years of doing my own work on the car and enjoying everyday of it, including the ones I sat in a corner and cried ahahah, I had to take her to a shop.Shop #1: They resealed the intake manifold and re-did a bunch of vacuum hoses to fix a idle issue...
So, a bit of development. I took everything apart for the third time and made sure all vacuum lines were connected and snug. I then proceeded to unplug and re plug all the sensors in the near area including any ones that were near the evap canister under the battery. Put everything back together...
Maybe just a fluke then. Should I mess with the TPS? I haven't had any idle issues like this before so I'm kinda not sure as to what I should be playin with. In the video I followed, are there any lines that I could've knocked into deep where the starter is? I spent a hour checking everything...
Yikes...holy..I fixed that in the original post, I'm a bit burned out. Never touched the throttle body. I followed this video on YT on replacing the starter.
