    4g64, cylinder 2 misfire/not firing

Checked, injectors, got spark, and air, tested coil packs, it wont even stay running now, keeps stalling, and last time I tried to start (after checking injectors) it ran for a min. then as it stalled there was a bit of smoke from right side of engine bay, will check compression in morning.

    4g64, cylinder 2 misfire/not firing

Have a 2000 rs, just had it throw a cylinder 2 misfire code, had no power when I limped it home, have replaced sparkplugs last fall, tried swapping coilpacks to check for bad coil. Anyone have ideas where to start from here, it stops missing at higher rpms, am wondering what could cause it to...

Back from tire shop with bad news

Depends on you ride preference, sport will give better ride, race should give better traction :)

    Wheel spacer. Help me out

I wouldn't recommend any wheel spacers, they increase stress to hubs, and can throw you suspension goemetry out of shape, in other words, they might look cool, but can cause increased tire wear, and increased suspension wear/problems, just saying :)

Lol, yea, grew up in MI, rust is a nuisance up there, it's not bad here in NC though:)

rear half shaft stuck to hub

Use an air gun on the axle puller, heating causes expansion, not always helpful, nut between penetrating oil and impact from air gun, it aughtta come out:)

Water in diff could be a pointer to bad gasket or seals, but good point in checking over the internals:)

Back from tire shop with bad news

Lol, hubs aren't hard, I've used a puller to press out the cv shaft on passenger front of my eclipse rs(shown in avatar pic), worked fine.

Back from tire shop with bad news

Yea, but when you do it yourself, you know it's done right,, as for those shocks/struts, if their shipping isn't bad, they're cheaper than the OEM replacements I just put in rear of mine dude, and koni don't make trash:) springs are pricey, ouch:)

Back from tire shop with bad news

Well, as to rust in driveshaft, if it is an 2peice then it's not uncommon,.warrants checking, but not usually a big problem, 1peice, check any boots and make sure they aren't holding water/debris, had a 1peice in a 1990 montero brake because a boot held moisture and rusted thru about half the...

Official Bench Racing Thread (how fast is my car/how much HP can I expect)

Hey all, while I'm not new to diamond star motor's vehicles (my first being a 1990 montero rs), I am new to trying to tune them, my eclipse has, from what I gather, a 2.4l sohc 16valve in-line 4-cyl engine in it, and I am curious as to the potential of it, mated to a 5-speed automatic trans...
