  1. Which Manual Boost Controller Should I Get?

I use the older "Joe P" style.... it was free ad works good.
  2. Street Build 300-400whp 95 TSI awd

Start with Link..... learn it. You can adjust your global/dead time settings to "Solve" the fuel pump over run. Make sure to rewire it as a "free" mod. AFPR not needed.
  3. 1g hx35 stock block (6 bolt) w/2g head

No bs. -4 reduced to.066 feed -12 return. The head means almost nothing compression wise... I chose it for the difference in volumetric efficiency. Much more responsive off/building boost
  4. 1g hx35 stock block (6 bolt) w/2g head

Ive got a 6bolt bottom, 2g head, 272s, hx 35 7blade and love it. Zero port work feels like a b16g response wise but after 5k its a whole diffrent beast. Thats the bolt on housing btw... You will have no regrets with the 2g head.... Dont port it !!! Proper oil feed and drain helped massively as...
  5. How to tell original engine from a swap?

Yes..... The bell housing is the piece that bolts between the engine block and the transmission.... It is part of the tranny.
  6. 1G spun rod bearing. options?

so after buying a brand new oil pump, at 300 dollars..... the bearings spins from the reliable machine shops work..... you would advise your customer to buy another oil pump?
  7. 1G spun rod bearing. options?

you're throwing your money away buying a new oil pump if that 1 is an oem and only has 15,000 miles at 250 a pop.
  8. Punishment FMIC worth it? Also what intake to go with?

Not for most. To see 400 whp on a b16e3 you need all the supporting mods and its easier to get there running corn(modified fuel system), You cant just bolt on a turbo and make 400 whp if your still deciding on what FMIC to buy.And who said your intake dosnt matter? Build a cold air box in...
  9. Exhaust Manifold gasket reusable?

I've had the same 4 layer copper SBR gasket for 12 years and 15- 20 installs. Never checked,cleaned,ect.... Just slap it on and it still seals like day 1.
  10. Where does your timing belt ride?

bolt the head right to the table as long as the deck is semi flat then end mill them. You may also be able to turn the cam alone in a lathe as long as you can grab it right/true. Ive never had the belt hang off.... but right to the edge.... maybe .01 over ??? I just ran them like that.
  11. 1G MAF-2G MAf questions

Age has very little to do with it. The issue is that the new bigger pump over powers the preset, non-adjustable regulator..... Increasing the volume of fuel the injector passes mechanicly.
  12. Where does your timing belt ride?

I've built 5 different motors, each 1 has had the belt sit to the left. Why, can't tell ya... All have ran good.... Belt wise anyway...
  13. what aftermarket cams will fit a 2g head without changing springs?

Pull your spark plug, push a non fray rope into the cylinder and coil it to take up the space, bring the piston up to press the valve.. Now pull the spring. the valve shouldn't drop more than a hair as long as the coil takes up all the room.
  14. Machining the valve guides.... not what your thinking

The guides were never removed, otherwise you are correct.. the media would have just fallen out. the seats will have 3 cuts on them that I know of if I take the guides out now, 2 if we just machine the guide shorter. I agree on the whole shortening and heat displacement.... but the length inside...
  15. Machining the valve guides.... not what your thinking

I have a 2 g head with about XXXX worth of port and valve work alone. everything is freshly machined and ready to go together right now. the head was sandblasted and cleaned with glass media before any machine work was done. after cleaning and machining we found media between the valve guide and...
