If you don't have a buddy to help, I'd suggest using some brake clean and blasting the suspect areas. Make sure the fluids are all topped off. Go make a trip around the neighborhood or up/down a local road with low traffic (in case something goes south, like a line finally burst). Then go back...
Google Mitsubishi OEM parts. Tons of parts sites. Been a while, but I'd always used an online site for a dealer in FL. Might have been Tallahassee Mitsubishi?
Be smart. Put another new OEM unit on. It'll last another 100K-150K miles.
I would wager the gearsets in the turbo cars are likely heat treated or have a different heat treat and or material. OEM's frequently due this to various parts to drive cost down rather than have a new unique gear. You still have it? I'd be interested in buying it. I have several GGSX cars and...
Have you thought about buying something like a Harbor freight vibratory tumbler to clean the hardware up and then use some simple electrolysis to recoat them? I keep telling myself I'm going to get a tumbler, but haven't yet. I've seen several YouTube vids of people using the tumblers with some...
I agree with Paulyman. Just drive it. Mods that simply make the car breathe easier, like air filters, larger exhaust, IC tubing can be simple mods that will liven up the car without changing the reliability significantly. Bumping the boost, bigger injectors, bigger turbo etc. is going to eat...
I think the key is people need to plan ahead and be patient. Due to social media today and businesses like Amazon, society has gotten hooked on instant gratification (not saying that's the situation here, just talking in general today) Personally I've used TRE circa 2004ish time frame. I was...
It's been 10 years since I've needed to screw with a 1g pedal and my cars are in storage right now, not being daily driven. I don't recall, does the 1g have a dead stop, like the 2g which limits how high the pedal can swing up?
Extended master rod. I mostly agree. It's somewhat about taking out compliance.
1G: It's been a while, but I think the larger arc, more travel applies to 1g.The 1g, correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't have a stop. There is also alot of flex in the pedal box on a 1g to deal with.
2G: The limiter is...
Keep in mind, Jack didn't discover this or figure it out. He just reiterated what was already known here. He was the first to make a video explaining it.
Totally agree.About every third reply post I make on a DSM page on FB, I'm pointing them here. I see it happen frequently from a number of people. I don't purposely frequent the pages, but trip across stuff as it pops up on my wall.
Used to. Put 300k-400k miles on 3 cars daily driving them. Then moved to CSM's when my commute was nearing 2 hours one way. Put about 200K on 3 CSM's. On in particular, I put 65K on in one year. Motor went. Moved to another one. All my DSM's/CSM's are parked now. I pull one out of the weeds...
