The wheels I posted are from a Mazda 626. Perfect bolt pattern and hub bore. Not too heavy either, i get a decent gain in acceleration vice my 16" street wheels.
I'm selling my rallycross wheel/tire setup, 14" steelies with mastercraft glacier grip tires. They were good enough for 2nd place in the WDCR SCCA Rallycross championship! PM me for details.
Pictures will be posted at Squared Away Photography when the guy gets around to it. Quite surprisingly, i have always been the only DSM out there, but i have seen an EVO once maybe twice. The WDCR crowd seems to love Subarus and E30 BMWs. Maybe after the last race they will all start buying...
So i assumed that AWD turbo cars with ABS and huge power and rally tires and modifications and LSDs would be faster at Rallycross than my daily driven anchient under-powered open diff FWD nearly stock Eagle Talon on snow tires... but i was wrong.1st place MF by 41 seconds over a good driver...
Yes, i have brand new NT single piston calipers. The pedal is extremely firm when those are coupled with the turbo master cylinder. My old turbo DSM got brake fade after one triple digit stop, so i'd say it's easy to overwhelm a DSM's brakes (especially without good pads).Since i have...
You sir are correct; many 1g came with 205/55-16. But Cheshire is saying that a 195/65-15 tire is equivalent in overall diameter to the previous wheel/tirecombo.i found great results downsizing to my 185/65-14 (thinner and shorter); picked up a good bit of acceleration. But those with...
Agreed- my NT power is easy to control and modulate to direct the behavior of the car when sliding. You will notice a big difference with the "right" set of winter tires. Tires aimed for ice use are probably too soft and will wear too quickly. A harder snow/winter tire with stud capability...
I am happy to report that two FWD DSM's took class wins over the weekend: RESULTSI took the MF class win by 8 seconds over two stage rally cars and a well-prepped VW GTI.My car is a daily driver that gets > 30 mpg, uses regular gas, is comfortable, runs perfectly and reliably, and is...
All,I would like to get a header for my 1993 N/T rallycross car / daily driver to free up some power and drop some weight off the front end. I have come across the following headers:- Pacesetter ($210 shipped)
- OBX ($210 shipped)
- M2 Performance ($125 shipped)
- Ebay no-name (as...
I like stock springs because with the extra ground clearance i am less likely to bottom out and the softer ride makes me "feel" like the car is getting less beat up! On a smooth track, i bet the prokit would be faster than stock. On a very bumpy course, who knows?I'm new to rally and don't...
An EVO is WAY nice to beat up at a rallycross! (just my opinion, i see plenty of STIs out there getting dirty). I don't really worry about being competitive; i'm out there to have fun and to get the most out of the car i can. When i pull times close or better than the AWD turbos, i know i...
Very sleeper!I'm not sure if you've fixed your mounts, but i usually buy a $5 tube of PL polyurethane black roof and flashing sealant from home depot / lowes and fill the voids in the stock mounts. it makes the mounts much more solid and i've repaired nearly completely torn mounts this...
