I live in Michigan, so it takes awhile for the engine to warm up depending on the weather.

so I finally got around to installing my external oil cooler. I also installed an oil thermostat that opens at 180°-190° let me know what you think. Just wondering if I would need to put a small puller fan on the back or if that would be overkill/waste of money?

I had this problem before, I changed lifters (new) twice, ended up being the camshafts, swapped in new delta 272's and everything was quiet again.

I was told that it would help keep the engine bay temps lower but I did not measure the temp before installing the blanket, so I guess piece of mind...maybe some of the other guys out there using them can chime in?

So I just installed a new turbo blanket last week. Its made by THERMAL ZERO and the company is located in Cincinnati Ohio and they advertise that all their products are made in the USA. It was only $65 delivered and it installed easily and fit well. I will try and post some updates as time goes on.

thanks for all the info, I will have to research some more and see what I want to do, btw the headlights are not tinted they are covers that i take off if I am driving at night because my stock headlights are so weak, lol.

I put prothanes on all 4, probably got a little over 2 hours in doing the whole job, just listen to what everyone above said and you should have no problems, I sand blasted my aluminum parts to clean them up and I think it looks good now

I have had the SRS 3" on my 2G 97 GSX went on perfect no issues and sounds great...maybe its different for the 1G, bummer.
