A complete novice car enthusiast attempting to bring an Eagle Talon back to life. Looking to add a bit more power to the car for cruising. This is definitely not a track car, so I’m not looking to live my life a quarter mile at a time. I’ll share my experiences, both triumphs and failures. Please feel free to ask any questions, just keep interactions positive. Currently I have had quite a bit of help and support from friends and most especially my wife. The car was mostly stock when I bought it in April 2020 with 125,000 miles. The timing belt was changed to an Evo 9 Kevlar belt, and a Gates water pump. Cold air filter, new valve cover, and a hydro dipped spark plug cover. It is the 4g63 and FWD. Installed the aluminum radiator and fans. Eliminated the power steering cooler. Just purchased ecmlink for tuning. Stock 14b turbo, but I have a 16g that needs rebuilt that will take its place. Purchased a HKS exhaust. New brakes and rotors. Aside from the terrible deck install, the interior is immaculate. Installed new hatch hydraulics, and have the high rise stock spoiler ready for install. Need to relocate the trans cooler, install intercooler pipe for the VSRF. Hoping to have it road ready by summer. Will install fuel upgrades when the turbo upgrade is ready.
