Alright, well obviously look for your basics -- leaks especially, it seems like the oil pan almost always has something leaking.Past the obvious, look for water erosion inside as well (strut towers are very common), but the tail lights also stop sealing properly at this age, check the trunk...
Hey man, if you need any advice before buying a 2g, hit me up. I've worked on restoring these things from the grave and can give you a good amount of tips on the common issues.
I'm finally out in the Springs but I had to sell my Talon before heading out. Just wasn't reliable enough for my new job, you all surely know how it goes. As a few months pass and checks start rolling in, I'll be in the market for a new 2G. I'll have to check back in when that time rolls around.
Just to throw an update out for any that are/were curious...The cause of this leaking was most likely the fact that my bumper no longer sealed up against the frame properly, so water was getting directly to that vent shown in pictures above through a hole between the body and bumper. But this...
When it rains moderately, nothing major happens. When it pours, it starts gathering alongside that plastic vent and overcomes the flap and seeps in. It also comes from all around that vent, not just the flap. Then it flows directly from the rear to the front of the car due to the way the car is...

Water is coming directly from the inside of the vent and flowing through the flap.Would it be a problem to remove this and just seal it up? Is there anything attached? Any special procedure to remove it -- or can I just knock it out of place? There's a similar article I found, but the...
I'm in the Quad Cities for an internship this summer, and maybe full time next year around this time. Anyone want to meet up for a cruise or anything? I brought my DSM back from the dead, so it's nothing special, but she's running
I have a 95 Eclipse GST and I need to replace the flywheel. Is it 106 or 110 tooth?Flywheel isn't with me or I'd just count it. Coming up with nothing via searches
Thanks for the help
Alright cool, I'll keep that website in mind if I determine the harness is what I need.It would be nice to know for future reference though, to know what the compatibility is between Talons/Eclipses, TSi/ESi/GS/GST/GSX, 95-96 and 97-99s
