My current plan is to bandaid it long enough for me to get another vehicle and then I'm free to take on big repairs.I'll still plan on doing the leakdown next weekend and look at the throttle body. I've never actually checked it but I did replace the pcv not even a month or two after I bought...
Update #2Just finished doing a number of things including a compression test and luqui moly engine cleaner prior to a full oil change. I bumped up my oil thickness from 5w30 blend to 10w40 conventional along with Lucas oil stabilizer.Compression test went very well, cylinders 1-3 topped at...
UPDATE:Just scoped out the pistons and plug wells.Let me know what you guys think.....I numbered the pictures and got the best quality I could. Also note that I can very easily see the top of the plug wells where the valve cover seats and it is bone dry it is 100% not the seals (which I...
There is a leak on the rear of the engine (firewall side) that never drips on the ground but just stays slightly damp. Haven't pinpointed it tho. Also, I did all those seals when I did the valve cover gasket and it never changed.
Thanks for the reply.I have no idea if it's the headgasket but I have also heard that was an issue on these cars so it's definitely a possibility.I just remembered back when I changed the spark plugs the threads were oily on almost all cylinders but the plugs weren't fouled, ran good just...
Haven't found a thread specifically addressing my issue so if anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it.Ever since I got the car it's burned a slight bit of oil, big deal I thought with 160k miles, I figured it was fairly normal and always topped it off, was never an issue.(Never...
To me it seems like it may burn oil constantly because the exhaust always smells like it even if you can't see smoke. But once it's warm and you rev it, it becomes very easy to see but not while driving really, off startup there is nothing.Previous owner said the car had been taken care of...
I'm new to these cars and ever since I bought it it's been burning oil. It seems be getting worse but not severe (enough where when I'm idling you can see blue smoke) and if it's getting worse it's very slow. She's almost at 160k miles but doesn't have a check engine light so it's in good shape...
I'll probably end up doing stock with lowering springs then since it sounds closer to what I'm looking for on a daily driver. And I don't care about how they look since nobody will see them anyways. Thanks
I know I'm probably adding to the many similar questions but can't really find a clear answer.I'm looking to replace my suspension all the way around from the stock ones on my daily. I want to lower it by maybe an inch, front and back from stock. I'm looking at coilovers but I know they can be...
I would love to go that route but I'm not into crazy tuning or anything so not sure if I could justify spending the money just for some cool custom hoses. I'll just stick to finding what I can and fixing it as it comes. Little disappointed there aren't kits anymore, I feel like that would have...
Been having issues with my coolant hoses lately, it's been blowing holes one after another. They definitely aren't in good shape by all means but at least they have been fairly easy fixes. I've decided to do them all maybe a cool color or something and been looking for a kit.If anyone knows of...
Okay so I believe I have fixed the issue, the hose I was talking about had a large pinhole that was leaking. I cut as little off as I could and put the hose on with a new clamp. Took it for a drive for about 20 minutes and had zero issues temp was steady and it wasn't leaking. I let the system...
Yeah I'm not going to screw around with it very much unless it seals well. If not I'm sure, the hose isn't too expensive I don't think, and I don't rely on the car as transportation so I'm ok with waiting for one to be delivered if I can't find it locally.
