As you should be, stellar work. Your perseverance inspires me to stay on mine. After 15yrs out of the DSM game, I also bought another one I had to have, after a string of clueless PO's leading to more work & time than I ever anticipated. I look forward to even more progress....
Not sure, first reg'd 06/92. I'm leaning towards 6-bolt, gonna ask the owner to snap a few pics of the oilpan. It's about 200mi away(not only are they rare in Germany, but it's also white with 75k mi).
Thanks guys, this is exactly the cut & dry answer to a question i've been wrestling with. And @ Eddie, I also remember BITD, 7-bolt was the Devil, didn't matter what year it was.
I meant using standard 1g turbo pistons, which are 7.8:1...how much can I skim the head to yield a bump in compression. I had an otherwise stock motor '90 gst ages ago with a Mitsu metal HG, took way long to built boost on the TRE 16g. And anyway, the NT pistons will be going in the scrap pile.
I'll be setting off with my motor 'build' soon, my goal is 300whp on a 1g fwd. Not insane by far, a 16g with supporting mods(incl mild cams) will do it. But what do I really need in terms of pistons? I'll be starting with an NT motor, and before the flaming starts, all 150hp NT's here in...
Spector, been there too. Sucks having found out that after one's hard work and attention to detail, the next owner messes it up royally. Keep up the good work.
Hello, name's Mike D., new to DSMTuners but DSM is old hat. Long story short, bought my 1st DSM (90 nt Talon) from my Mom in 1998 @ age 19. She had bought it new, and decided a 2g Sport would be better. Then over the next few years came 2g GST-> '92 AWD Talon 6-Bolt 4-bolt LSD->POPUP 1g...
