Holset HE351VE Installed in My DSM (pics)

Not a problem at all, glad I could help. I did send my turbo off to have it upgraded, I originally was told they would put on a 67mm comp wheel and a larger exh wheel. Long story short it just ended up getting a 67mm comp wheel same exh wheel. It seemed to spool the same still, never got the...

Holset HE351VE Installed in My DSM (pics)

I'm just glad people are still making progress with this turbo, I have had mine running for awhile and love it. Blew a worn out motor before I got to push it too hard though. New motor now, and swapped the m45 to a m62 and new SMIM which meant all new piping. Should be fun with a lot of boost...

HE351ve, how to control the factory actuator

Both should work fine. Those bits are used to prioritize messages on the CAN bus. 0x18 will have a slightly higher priority than 0x0C.Where else are you finding information about this protocol? I was unable to find anything when I was looking about a year ago.

HE351ve, how to control the factory actuator

The actuator can be commanded to move to 1001 different positions (0 to 1000). Each byte can only represent 256 values (0 to 255). The second byte is used to expand the range of the first byte.I will list a few examples.Position 1000 = 0x03E8 Data Byte 0: 0xE8 Data Byte 1: 0x03Position...

    Good bye lag?

Well it all depends on the pulley size/ratio, a Grand Prix m90 with a 3.75" pulley (i think is what it is) would give 21.7 psi. I am using an m45 with a 2.8" pulley and the factory crank pulley, this gives me a 2.25:1 pulley ratio. That means the m45 is moving 101.25 (45x2.25) CI per engine...

    Good bye lag?

From the research I did the twincharged option looked to give better low end response, though not sure if thats the case or not. I was just very impressed by the results I was seeing from a few people, like Ray Peters of course. Another was Hans Schori Hans Schori Mitsubishi EVO RS, 800 HP...

HE351ve, how to control the factory actuator

Here is the basic info needed to control the HE351ve actuator. I will edit this post later to add more detailed and organized information. The CAN protocol used is j1939 at 250kbps. 29bit extended IDs are used. The messages used to control the vanes are Proprietary B PGNs so documentation is...

    HE351VE Controller Project

I am currently using an stm32 eval board.Keil MCBSTM32 Evaluation Board OverviewThere are many cheaper options capable of CAN. I am using this board to control my supercharger bypass as well.I will post info on the protocol when I get home tonight. To avoid hijacking this thread, I...

    HE351VE Controller Project

Is anyone still interested in the HE351ve J1939 protocol? I have it figured out and am willing to share if anyone is interested. Here is a video of my brother commanding the unmodified factory Holset actuator to various positions over CAN.HE351VE - YouTube

    Good bye lag?

Been a little bit since i posted here last, changed over to a 99 auto gsx, also have the HE351VE turbo on using the factory controller, just waiting on weather to take it out for a test really.

    Twin charged vs Single

I dont see a, twin charged setup efficiently making much more power than a well setup 16g car.I know this thread is kinda old, but I think this guy is making a few more ponies than your average 16g dsm Hans Schori Swiss Hillclimb Champion 2011 Mitsubishi EVO RS 800 HP - YouTubeHope the...

    Good bye lag?

Actually its funny you should mention the auto, the main reason there hasn't been much progress on this because I'm in the process of buying a 99 auto Gsx to switch over to :) And I do agree with ya on the 2.3, I have plans for that down the road but till I get a m90 to go with it. The m45...

    Good bye lag?

Sadly no real big updates yet, fine tweaking the tune and bypass system right now. Seem to have reached the limit of my walbro 255 and closing in on the 1200cc injectors though so gonna have to find some upgrades soon. I promise the project is going to be finished and get the VGT turbo on at...
