Personally I would order a longer cable. I have been in the low voltage industry since 1997 and despise having spliced wiring. Just another failure point in 2 years and you forgot you spliced that wire and are trying to figure out the problem...
I bought a 20g turbo, valve cover, forge bov, dsm link v3, 2g maf. Still have not decided if I am going to run maf or speed density but the maf was super cheap so I went ahead and bought it.
Running new wiring will not be very hard. Just run it under the carpet for the rear speakers. You should probably go ahead and buy some interior molding clips because half of them will break when you remove them.
If it is the original then it may just be time to replace it. Mine was doing similar things and I just replaced it with a cheap double din media player.
I might be crazy, but I’m doing it! A weekend trip from Texas to the Pacific Coast of California in my 1991 GSX. For the preparations leading up to this trip, check out my build thread...
I've got a few pictures of my first car somewhere. I will look and post them. It was a 1990 eclipse gs. I got it in 1994 when I was in the 11th grade. Ive had several since then. Always 90 or 91. I like the pop ups.
