Plans are to throw together some type of paddle shifter. Ive read its possible to adapt an Evo8 (or evo10) steering wheel/clock/paddles into a DSM. When I get the time and appropriate parts, Ill have to take photos along the way and document the process. Seems to be very little information...
1990TSIAWDTALON, I had found your reviews yesterday and read through. Very good resource, thank you for taking the time to put them together. I'm working on choosing the right forced4 shift box for my application, although I'll probably just grab the 100.1, always room to learn more!
Hi all,Figured this would be a good place to drop this question regarding automatic transmission supporting components. I'm very new to the Auto side of the DSM world, but with higher power goals and depleting manual parts (along side a fiance that really doesnt enjoy a quartermaster 7.25) Im...
Ive been recommended wiseco 1400HD pistons, and turbo tuff rods, OE 100mm crank and ACL race bearings. Pair this with a kiggley main girdle (if 6 bolt, 7 bolts have a girdle factory) While the rods are a little overkill, Id rather be able to sleep knowing the rods are no longer the weak point...
Thanks for the replies everyone, and thank you for the photos ec17pse! There may be a chance I could crank down an axle in the bearing to re seat the races but Id rather warranty the bearings rather than risk failure. The car only sat on its wheels for a few months so im assuming its just from...
Thanks for the replies ladies and gents. Guess in my mind wheel bearings were rolling element bearings, it apears they are actually tapered roller bearings to support the thrust load of a tightened axle.
The front axles were not installed as there is nothing in the engine bay to support the other ends. Is that a guideline I've somehow missed over the past 10 years?
Hay tuners,
I'm a bit blown away by an issue I found this morning. I've been building/restoring a 98 GSX for a few years, and recently moved over the past weekend. All four corners received new bearings (along with literally new everything), OEM bearings in the back, Precision bearings in the...
Hay guys,
I had a question about tuning on DSMlink. Over the years I have seen quite a few clips of 2jz engines building boost when they ain't under load. I was wondering if its possible to tune DSMlink to do the same? I know DSMlink has anti-lag and launch control to build boost on the line...
Yea it's the part of the harness that's under the passanger fender. Only 1 giant plug for the abs ecu on that end. Took a corner wayyy too fast, and hit a giant crack/pothole. Slammed the wheel into the fender/strut tower and made a mess of the harness.
Oh hay dude! What's up?? Haha. Yea I think I'm just gonna snip it off under the fender. I'd really like a hand with my engine harness, things a damn rats nest.. Haha.
Long story short, I bottomed out my wheels hard, and I ripped out the fender liner and the tire bit into the abs harness shreaded it. I don't have abs in the car, just used an abs harness to replace the last one that was a mess. can I just cut the whole thing off? Anyone know what wires I...
