    Horn sounds like a dying Road Runner

    Hey guys, my horn sounds like it is shorting out funny before it powers the horn. Both horn switches completely depress but the horn will sputter, like a dying animal or stuttering engine. It is not loud either, and can barely be heard in the cockpit. Where should I start?

    buy the car for cheap because you tell the guy "people on the forums think its rod knock." If it goes on the way home, it goes, but you got a 2g for cheap. then do a rebuild. Either way I think you win. Whats the price and mileage on the car? Rust?

    You have a bad cam angle sensor I'd bet. Its easy to check as only two bolts hold the sensor in. Mark it with a sharpy so you can put it back in and be sure you pull it out when the crank is in TDC position. Pull it out and if it crumbles apart in your hand you know why.you should also...

    I can tell you about one hearty launch on my rebuilt tranny. Oddly enough the transmission was flawless. It was the differential that failed. It wasn't the pin out of the differential either. Some talked about that rotating out of place. Nope, I managed to grind the teeth off off the spider...

    Plus one here. Thats a great idea.But why hasn't the OP checked his fluid levels in everything? At the rate it is dripping you should be able to notice what is leaking. If your coolant levels are very low, thats it. If your power steering fluid is very low, thats it.

    It looks like dilapidated axle grease. Its goopy enough that I'd call it grease but liquid enough that I'd call it oil. Look under the car and check the rubber boots on your axles. Make sure that there are still metal bands around the rubber boots.Also the power steering pump is on that...

    I'd say his list looks good. Stick with your seven bolt its less hairy than doing a 6 bolt swap. This will also give you a great bottom end motor to bolt on whatever else you want.

    Argh, good call about the install kit. I missed the second part of the post. Yeah, 14b with install kit works fine, its all bolt on replacement.+1 to using a t25, it will cost you less.

    yeah, you don't want it to rock back and forth. Plus if it isn't spinning thats good indication your turbo is f'd. lol.

    Well its not so much as pay for it as it was a gifted fixer-upper. Sensors, brakes, radiator etc. So it technically cost about 400 bucks.
