Man, that rot was insane. The Eclipse I had before the one I got now was worse than that. Check your strut towers. If you barely even see any bubbling, fix it asap. I saw a little bit of rust showing through and I thought it was surface rust, but when I started grinding away the paint... let's...
Has anyone tried the Corbeau Evolution X seats in their 2g cars? I tried Sparco R100, but the seating position left alot to be desired. Too tall (my head hit the headliner) for my sunroof equipped car, and I'm not a fan of how off to one side I sat.
I'm not looking to modify the tub of the car...
Just a bit of additional info for those interested: The front roll stop mount center hole will fit a 16mm or 5/8" bolt. Since the bolt used is so small, there can be extra engine movement under 'spirited' driving. By taking out the bracket and matching the hole size with the mounts' and using a...
Hey, they're not that bad.:pGranted, they don't hold up to the DSMs, but for a daily, they're kinda fun. I got one as a daily (manual 6 speed), since I couldn't see myself not driving an Eclipse. My DSM is reserved for weekends and nighttime twisty roads.
I've recently installed a DCSport strut bar to help tie in my 22mm rear sway bar. The only issue I have is the fact that the hatch cover "pockets" sit lower than the bar.Has anyone succesfully modified the hatch cover to clear the DCSport strut bar? If yes, pics would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Thank you for all this info. I was thinking of using a NO push button switch in place of the original clutch safety and tying it into the relay (via the 2gnt writeup) to simplify gaining clutch pedal safety functionality.
I know I'm overcomplicating something that would be easier to just bypass...
That makes sense. I'm trying to figure out how they got it to work with the wiring they showed. My only guess is swapping in a MT starter relay. But, according to the Haynes manual, the AT relay is set up so that terminals 1 and 3 are the coil, and 4 and 5 are the NO switch. The MT relay is set...
My car is auto. I'm in the middle of the conversion. I'm following the guide on 2gnt, and it says to wire the clutch pedal to the black wire with yellow stripe. I just want to know if I need to just tie into the circuit, or cut the wire to just include the clutch switch. My car does have the...
I have a small question. Regarding the wiring of the clutch safety switch to the black/yellow wire on the starter relay, do I cut the wire to only have the clutch hooked up to it, or do I just tee off and keep the rest of the circuit intact?
Not trying to hijack a thread, but I figured I'd ask...
I believe you'll need to use the 2.5 v6 block for the swap to be as plug and play as possible. Something to do with necessary sensors, I think. Just swap over the 3.0 heads. If you do the whole 2.5 v6 swap, they were only rated at 155hp, so swapping to the newer heads would make more sense. I...
Hey guys,
I'm currently looking into finally building my bottom end (or just getting one built due to work/life imbalance) before installing my HRC turbo kit on my 420a, and I got a fuelling question. I purchased a Maxgms adjustable fpr (same guy behind the Begi fpr), and since my car is a '99...
I've had this problem on my '95 (RIP),'99 (weekend toy), and '07 eclipse (daily). On my DSMs, both times ended up being the inner CV joints. On my '07, it ended up being my driver's inner side CV joint and lower ball joint. Inner CVs tend to vibrate at certain speeds when going bad. Mine would...
Looks like, if all goes to plan, I might start the rebuild next month (or at least start getting theparts). Since top end has been done, block looks to be refreshed as well. And I have a Hahn stage 2 kit sitting around, begging to be installed. Haha. It's just going to have to have the...
I just tested my compression today and got 130 psi (+-5) across the board. Engine has Brian Crower stage 2 NA cams with the exhaust cam set -4°. I do have 160,000 miles on engine. Also, wet test brought my compression up to 160psi.
How much will the cams affect compression? Is the overlap...
