It needs a tune anyways, if you take a look at my build profile it’s bored and cammed out and I don’t really feel comfortable running a “built” motor on a stock tune. Furthermore, from what I remember about what the seller told me, they are 880cc injectors, I didn’t ask about the sensor but I’ll...
Okay thank you, I never knew the 16g was internally wastegated. I will make the switch soon. With the ECMlink upgrade coming soon would it be worth it to buy the v3 and upgrade later? Or go get it tuned professionally now and just wait for v4? As per your advice I joined the Alberta DSM group...
I wish I could, but with the manifold set up and the funds I have available, being a high school student an all, I’m pretty much forced into something with an internal waste gate. It’s running the eprom ecu I believe so I can run ECMlink v3 when the time arises. The hardest part for me right now...
Thank you. For what I’m trying to find out I think it’s just basics I believe, I had to rewire the whole car but I have a bunch of clips that go no where and things like that. Once I have it running I should be fine but it’s about 1-2 hours on the forums for about 30 minutes to an hour of work.
Hey all, so after running with my dads hand-me-down Dakota v6 for a year I decided to make my first real car purchase. It’s a 97 eclipse gst that I bought for a measly $1000 with way too much done to the car. I decided with the dsm platform primarily because of the support and the reliability...
Updating the thread, finished all of the wiring and realized how much this car is missing. It lacks AC, heat, and power steering but those are all niceties until I have the proper funds. Currently just waiting on the funds to attempt to start the car, waiting for oil lines, BOV, boost...
It was partially done, all I have done to it is swap out the harnesses so far. I just bought the car on the 17th. Everything looks to be done to convert it to a turbo car outside of the control harness.
The GS harness is almost completely out, time to replace with the GST one. Took off the front headlights/bumper for easier access, also removed the steering wheel to get under the dash easier.
So this is my first real car, I know practically nothing going into this build other then I have to change over the GS wiring to the GST wiring +ECU. It came with a Holset HX40 but doesn’t bolt up to the down pipe so I might need to make some alterations. Any input is always helpful!
