I have just recently rebuilt my engine as well, but i had a new clutch in with it as well so i broke that in (driving a little bit conservatively, but still using all the RPM ranges and loads following whats in that link jakk220 posted above) for 500 miles. Then i went to a lapping day with it...
UPDATE (2015)I've done the upgrade with the 3g BMC/BB and I must say, WOW.I have been going to lapping days and autocross for the last 2 years and recently bent my valves at a lapping day (due to a exhaust leak at the manifold which melted the timing covers enough for it to get wedged in...
I recently skipped some teeths on the timing belt during a lapping event due to overheating inside the engine bay (due to a blown manifold gasket) and did an complete engine overhaul. I put in new NPR pistons, new topline valves with the oem composite HG.I put everything back together and...
Nope, the pedal never hits the floor. and no i do not, the abs module is toast.
Honestly before i did the brembo swap i thought it was going to bottom out and feel mushy like everyone said but to me it feels pretty good, and i cant imagine how much better it will be after the 3g bmc/bb conversion.
I am currently running evo 8 brembos on all four corners with the stock BB/BMC and it feels fine. Car stops amazingly quick at the auto-x stop boxes lol. Although i have all 3g BMC/BB with all the swap components on hand, I too am just holding off until i have a reason to pull of the intake...
Gapped the plugs to 0.028, tried another set of spark plug wires. Took out the ecu to see if anything was fried, checked timing as well. All these were good. No signs of anything wrong. Checked every single injector with a voltmeter while car was running. All show the same values. Checked the...
Car misfires during/after getting into boost SOMETIMES.The weird part is that after boosting, it only misfires for a little bit (10-15 seconds) and starts idling fine but if i build boost again, it will repeat that process).
But sometimes, it will continue misfiring on one of the cylinders...
The car when started from cold would idle rough and give me the CEL code P0303 (cyl. 3 misfire). It still idles but obviously very rough..However, when i let it idle rough for about 30 seconds (AFR cycles around 19:1) and shut the car off and then start again, it only misfires for the first...
