I always recommend the hard break in method. Just preference for me ive had friends do soft break ins with success and I did a hard break in to compare. Both motors are running strong with no issues. Thats my .02 cents

I would suggest getting a shell and chopping the front off. Just to insure proper fittament of all the components in that area.

Have you tried checking with miller. The guy parts countless dsm's id try him to see if he has one before you go ecu swapping and rewiring.

I capped all my egr vacuum ports when mine was causing a stutter under accel.

Aftermarket cams are usually stamped on the cam with a brand unless there a regrind. BC cams are stamped were the cam gear is bolts to the cam. I would pull them and inspect them to properly identify them.

Make sure you have spark, fuel, compression. Those should be checked first to make sure you have all the things needed for a motor to start.

Did notice it was 2WD. Sorry Check you engine mounts as well.

If you have access to a lift then I would put it on a lift and inspect the drive shaft and mounts. Its also possible that you need to have the drive shaft balanced. If all the basics are covered I would check the drive shaft and tcase for damage or worn parts.

Its quite possible you skipped timing. Lets start with the basics and verify your plugs are in good condition with a correct gap. Also that your base timing is correct. One issue ive seen from that same scenario was the drive shaft carrier bearing tore through its rubber amd created a vibration...
