Does the Camshaft end caps closest to the cam gears need any sealant?

here is an illustration of how i installed it. I would hate to remove the motor again. Is there any easier way to remove it and put the motor back in because i had a difficult time putting it in because of the torque converter was stuck with the crank.

My service manual says to torque the rod bolts 14.5ft/lbs plus 90* and my mains to 18 ft/lbs plus 90* as well , is that right?
