Hey guys. I'm changing the rear pads on my '92 Tsi. It has ABS and is AWD if that matters. Everything is done, except I can't get the piston in the calipers to screw back in to fit the caliper over the new pads.The haynes manual said I could use needlenose pliers to twist it and I've even...

Do yourself a favor and pick up a 2G shiftknob. I put one on last night and it's 100% better shifting now with the new knob. Much better feel with the throws and just fits great in your hand. :thumb:...oh yea it's way cheaper to pick up a used 2G knob then getting anything aftermarket, too.

and by keeping it wouldn't that be a nice safeguard or is it eliminated when you install an mbc anyways?

I'm sure this has been discussed to death, but I'm reading how removing the BCS restrictor raises boost 2-3psi, but I'm kinda wondering if that's actually serving a good purpose and should not be removed?

nobody's really responded with anything useful, though. Lexan is the material used in glass replacement on race cars. Obviously if you did this you'd lose your rear defrost if that makes any difference. Lexan is also known to warp over time in direct sunlight so that's another thing to watch...

Yea i checked the fluid when it started making noise and I filled it up quite a bit. It's not really a squeaking sound.

something i noticed....the whining almost goes away when I let my car warm up this morning. Any idea what that's about?

I can't tell for sure, but I believe my power steering pump is making a really annoying whine. I think it's the power steering because an older camaro i had made a similar whine. The only difference is there's nothing wrong with my power steering and it doesn't ever feel like it's going to die...

nitrous can make any slow car fast...I don't know how long I'd trust that Saturn motor to withstand the spray, though. In the meantime make as much money with it as possible :thumb:
