Extended test drive today was a success for the oil pressure sending units, no leaks at either! The secondary fan held its own and didn't melt this time, temperature only hit 240 twice. However it is a DSM and once I parked it in the garage something else developed a very slow drip between...
So it definitely vibrated itself apart again. I got under the car and the whole assembly was wiggly, and when I pushed on it the 1/4" union fitting snapped off again. I relocated all the sensors now, but we had rain all day yesterday so I was unable to fully test it. I lost 3 quarts of oil, so...
I'm running the correct BSPT to NPT adapter, I think the setup is just long and is vibrating like crazy or touching the frame when it flexes.I don't like the setup now either, but at the time I copied from a thread on here. I'm moving the AEM sensor to one of the 3/8" ports with a 3/8" BSPT to...
It weird, this setup will not hold at all. The threads never back out or get loose, the oil just blows right through them. I tried all different combinations, aluminum fittings, brass fittings, Teflon tape, high temp sealant, bare threads you name it.
So worked on the overheating issue. I replaced my fan and wrapped my wastegate and dump pipe. I also put some gold foil on the back of the fan and my lower intercooler pipe. I them installed a piece a DEI form-a-shield on the turbo to help cut down on the heat hitting the fan. I took the car out...
I wasn't running a fan there at first, but the car starts to overheat after 1-2 big pulls so I added it back. I bought a Motorad high flow 180 and 192 temp thermostat I may try switching to and see if that helps as well. Otherwise I'm thinking of wrapping the wastegate and dump tube, and maybe...
Haven't got around to doing much of anything with the car. I have been chasing an oil leak issue at the gauge sending unit. I have the the tee setup with the stock and AEM sending unit and it keeps leaking no matter how a seal it. I have used aluminum and brass fittings. What I finally did last...
Finally got my transfer gears after months of waiting. My plan was to send my trans, t-case, and rear diff out to TMZ to get rebuilt, but with the unfortunate event that happened with TMZ I'm not sure what route to go now. I also need to find someone in the northeast Ohio area that can do an 8.5...
That makes sense I'm starting on the #8 from Jeff, and planning on going 2.0L long rod. I'm still looking for a set of standard gears. Jeff has been back ordered on them for months.
